two words : Buster Sword, i'm talking Cloud in FF7 style baby.
P.S. cloud is pretty skinny how does he even hold that sword up considering that it probably weighs more that he does, and i know he has the whole mako infusion thing going on but i mean come on people.

I'll have the one that's literally of heavenly origins: the sword created by researchers at Northwestern University out of meteroritic iron. Differentially tempered, selectively annealed, and it comes a thick manual. A plus: it exists and there's more.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:I'd have:
A lightsaber
Sting, from "The Hobbit""Lord Of The Rings"
The Curgans sword from " The Highlander (pt 1)"
Excalibur
A traditional Japanese Katana
A Katana with the sharp edge on the inside curve.
And thats just for starters.
It would be rather difficult to create a Katana with a blade on the concave section, especially considering that the blade is supposed to be martensitic FCC and the core is cooledmore slowly, resulting in a curve. it that can be effectively made, then why not?
Colorado School of Mines has electromagnetic live casting capability to create a reverse-bladed katana whiel avoiding recurving... just 6 hours drive from here!
In terms of electronic beam generators:
Not the crummy beamsabers from Gundam... a better design would be to use a laser and hold back the light using (a) a gas (b) a magnetic field or (c) another way to control the photons. In terms of (b) a magnetic field, you'd better not have keychains in your pocket, and that's probably violate Section 12 of the FCC code as well.
For energy, try the International Thermonuclear Energy Reactor or ITER, they're planning on converting mass directly into electrons.
In terms of (organic) natural ones that having nothing to do with tech:
The energy output method used by Ryoko and the Jurai royal family to create their energy fields.
Tetsusaiga, or a posessed or transforming one.
