i just saw it last myself. pretty damn god. looks like theres going to be a sequle to it the way it ended. though the elder vampire was kinda annoying when he first awoke. the whole audience was rolling at certain scenes with him that wernt supposed to be funny that turned out to be.
movies i have yet to see on my list are
Freedy vs Jason
Jeepers Creepers 2
Once Upon A Time in Mexico
yah you can tell im a horror fan except the desperado sequle.

Underworld was much much much better than I thought it would be. The critics really have no idea what the hell they're talking about on this one. There's more depth here than most of the other movies that've been pumped out of the marketing machine this year.
BTW, Once Upon a Time in Mexico was sadly pretty bad, I was really excited for it too, but its just ridiculous.

I saw Underworld late Friday night. Very good film. The gunplay was pretty accurate, but the whole standing in place while shooting sure as hell wasn't. The gunfights served mainly to establish Selene's centuries of training and skill as a Death Dealer, more than anything else.
I am curious how she managed to fire so many rounds from a Beretta 92 FS machine pistol, though. Those 9x19mm autoloaders only hold a maximum of 15 rounds with the pre-Brady Bill high-capacity magazines. But she was firing something like bursts of 20+ rounds before she reloaded.
It seemed to be another Matrix-based movie for first-person shooter players, and not real-world weapons enthusiasts. Between the Desert Eagle pistol, SPAS-12 autoloading shotgun, and the slew of MP-5's, the practicality for the Lycans to stay in hiding in a large pack would be improbable at best. Because England (along with Australia, Japan, etc) has banned gun posession of any kind of firearm, for hardware of that rarity, serious connections with major gun-runners (most likely IRA affiliates) would be required. That would stick out like a sore thumb after a while. The vampires getting their hands on that stuff, I could understand, but a guerrilla force of Lycans, I highly doubt.
However, I found the plot, with all it's twists and turns, to make the movie more than anything else. Character development was also pretty good. I'm definately going to see that film again.

It was mainly a realism/originality factor. It felt like a sequal, mainly driven by taking things from the first two movies (Desperado and El Mariache) and making them bigger and better, like the flame guitar and ridiculous gunfights with people flying all over the place while antonio stood and shot in the open. Desperado had some of that lack of realism, but it wasn't nearly as bad IMO. All in all, it was like the difference between MIB and MIB2.El Banana wrote:More out of curiosity than anything... but what did you like about it that you did not find in Mexico?SSJVegita0609 wrote:Significantly more than OUaTiM, but it wasnt one of my favorites per say.El Banana wrote:Well, did you like Desperado?SSJVegita0609 wrote:Underworld was much much much better than I thought it would be. That second that it switches scenes from her to pics of the guys getting blown away is where she reloads in less than .5 of a sec so that to our eyes it seems like the bullet fire never stopped, duh
