As for a book on the fall of Berlin - I'd like that myself!
Certainly Tzar was pretty crap but considering the damage Stalin did to Russia by executing and imprisoning tens of millions people, it's hard to imagine how anyone could do worse.

Maybe some writer could write some kind of 'what if...' story based on that documentary. Brian Aldiss made 'CRACKEN AT CRITICAL' which basicly was 'Hitler won because Churchill was killed by terrorist in Finland'.....

The more I read this book about the fall of berlin the more I see that it really was equally evil people and group of leaders fighting each other. The poor finns the poles and the lithuanians were all caught in the middle of these savages. Soviet forced laborers repatriated were killed once they were freed from the germans by their own army. Soviet women were raped by the red army in instead of being set free. Any pow that was freed was asked why he didn't die for stalin. German civilians were mass murdered by both the Ss and the red army. No wonder so many Red army personal tried to defect even joining up with the germans. I am thinking patton was right that we should have kept on going and went to war with stalin we had the bomb and he didn't. I understand why we didn't but if you read anywhere that the russians were good guys. Never believe it.

Ok, this is kinda off topic with teh current discussion of the fall of berlin and all, but i noticed some game screen shots on the other page. Teh coolest game i've played with WW2 fighters would ahve to be Dogfighters!, it's a peretty cool game ... takes place in a kids living room. You get to fly models of ww2 fighters around the kids house and destroy enemy planes, tanks and bases. It's pretty fun. BUt i was only able to find the demo, you can play the Axis campaign, and only get one plane. I think it's a Foken-wolf P-90 ior is it 190? not sure, but it's teh low end starter that you get. If you play teh allies in the full version i think their high end fighter is teh mustang, i can'tremember the Axis high end fighter though ... but ti's a pretty fun game. If you guys get the chance give it a shot.

Well uh... let's just say I'll try to steer clear of any confrontation regarding the Berlin & Red Army atrocities issue. Let's just say I'm not going to exclude the possibility of large-scale problems with this, and the Red Army was certainly not a bunch of angels. And yes, it is a fact that many POW's ended up being in Stalin's camp after the war. However... let's just say I'll step aside regarding the rest. I'll give two reasons - firstly, there is hardly anything compared to the Soviet morale in WWII. Secondly, let's not forget Dresden, Hamburg, Berlin, etc. It wasn't the Russians bombing them to hell, you know. I strongly doubt the situation would be drastically different or less costly to the civilians if the Western Allies had their way.
That said though, the continued occupation after the war is a different story...

1.Secret weapons of the luftwaffe.-lucas arts

2. Red baron---sierra

3.Wings of glory-Sierra

4.Aces of the pacific-Plays just like red baron

The last few flight sims i have bought have been boring to play.

Might sound strange, but IL-2 is actually the first WWII flight sim I ever played. Other than that, I'm quite a bit more into the modern stuff - which I admit most people find boring. Yes, WWII and WWI were certainly more about the action and adrenaline, so modern combat may seem a bit too brainy and pale by comparison. Granted, I still love it to death :)

There's a new Secret Weapons game coming out soon - Secret Weapons over Normandy. Wonder if that'll be any good... time will tell, I guess.

IL-2 - hell yea.

up to 32 players in dogfight, 16 for cooperative missions. And since IL-2 has the most detailed mission editor I've seen in a flight sim, the coop's could come out real well.

Plus, though I haven't tested it, I hear you can have more than one person per plane on bombers (which is also pretty neat).

I think you could do it on 'Warbirds', though I haven't tested it yet. Would probably be quite fun, though pilot might get bored until plane is shot to hell. :) Otherwise it's just a formation flying since we all know what happened to bombers who strayed away from formation...

Small specialised mission are probably better and more exciting for bombers. 'We have this single Heinkel and we need you to destroy russian artillery positions. Stay low.....'
