Parents didn't think the networks were being preachy enough. Which is ironic, because when you think about it, the cartoon channels are become more preachy while th major networks are become more cliche-ripoff-recycled-ultraviolent-porno channels.

If you want to be preachy to kids, add "The Grammar Channel" or such, with the adventures of Dr. Miyamoto ridding the world of incorrect comma usage.

As for the WORST, look no farther than Aduly Swim with Seablab and Aqua Teen Hunger Farce. Boring, as we say:

Sealab used to be good, then they started making really really crappy ones. Oh well, what can one do?
Kawaita hitomi de dareka na itekure -The Real Folk Blues, Yoko Kanno
I like it! -Indiscipline, King Crimson
If you wanna touch the sky, you must be prepared to die, and I hate cough syrup don't you? -Cough Syrup, Butthole Surfers

Pussycats (as in Josie and the...) from Outer Space has got to be one of the worst, if not the worst. I know it's old, but people are still reviling the works of Ed Wood and that's even older. Barely animated, scripted by mental defectives, who probably figured their audience were also mental defectives. Makes one long for the quiet subtlety of Rocket Robin Hood.
Worst 1980s cartoon: probably Care Bears. Worst 1990s: dunno there is a lot that sucks from that era. Worst contemporary: Rugrats. The very character designs make me cringe, they look like they have some sort of congenital disfigurement. Mind you there's plenty of stuff that just sucks these days.

If you want to go with quoting what I said, then make it relate to it. I said I didn't like Captain Planet because I pollute, big deal, as for me quoting Neal Boortz, if ever listened to him on the radio, he had a good point about that show, considering America is one of the top polluting countries.

Look for someone else to quote, not me.
"I've spent the last ten years of my life defending my country, I've sacrificed for it, fought for it, and bled for it, now it's time I got something back, so please just respect me and my fellow Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines as we continue to do this job."
Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because brave men stand willing to do violence on their behalf
