I don't mind it when there is an attempt at substantiated debate, or straight forward fact posting. What I do not like is when posts fall into name calling.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:Oh blah blah blah blah blah. Don't you people have anything else to talk about? This argument is a no win situation. It has fairly even justifications, so noones going to come out on top. If you're that bored why dont you go....count you're pubic hairs or see how far up your c*** you can stick a big ass cucumber? Jeez!

Has any war protest ever stopped a war? I can't think of any. Vietnam, MAYBE, but that still went on for years and ended when the US ran out of mission creep and poor military decisions, compounded by the Vietcong taking advantage of the aforementioned factors.
Speaking of Vietnam, I think the French helped get us into that, and then left us with the ball.
Anyhow, odds are this war will be over fairly quick. The Iraqis are not in very good shape militaristically, near as I can tell. Lack of equipment, the equipment they do have is old Soviet type stuff, and they have nowhere near the quality or level of training that the US has. Toss in a strong potential for surrender (because how many Iraqi grunts really want to die for Saddam?), and our prospects look good.
Urban combat may be our biggest issue. Still, our Rangers and Delta forces did well in Somalia, even without advantages like night vision or proper equipment load out and considering they were in the heart of the city.
I feel we have a good chance of doing this without a lot of bloodshed.

I wasn't refering to your post...I was refering to earlier posts in this thread which had little in them but name calling. However, if you want me to focus on you specifically, your own post had enough hostility in it directed at those interested in what is being written here to be considered insulting.SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:Did you actually read my post? I never called anybody a name, did I? And I even went to the liberty of blanking part of my post. Which means I didn't swear, which means I can't get in trouble.
Here's the deal, some of us care about things that are happening in the world and we like to talk about it. Perhaps we might not be able to convince each other about the validity of our own opinions, but that does not subtract from the value of our discussion.

lol, you sound like willy wonka at the end of the movie when he's trying to act all big and bad and since when has it been trendy to bash this country??? all i've ever heard ever since 9/11 is "Gawd bless the united states of ameruka" and all i've ever seen are fucking american flags o_O you may beleive in what you type but that doesn't mean that you have a very good, valid point. all in all there are more reasons to NOT go to war than to go....Mroni wrote:

i don't beleive the threat lies in iraq it's self, but the number of religious militia's and terrorist groups in and around iraq and america. The few in america might not do very much but you never know, i mean bin laden certainly did a good job of striking terror into the heart of america and slipped right through security, not to mention timothy mcvay (i don't know how to spell his name o_O ) and other extremists of his nature, and thats just here in america... that was the whole entire reason the bush before this one didn't kill saddam, he knew it would piss alot of people off.... not to mention the possibility of a nuclear attack from either side, and to tell the truth i realy don't have much trust in our president to make a large decision like that..... i think that bush is getting us into something much larger than he suspects and isn't worried much about us seeing as how he has top of the line security, meaning we're going to pay for his mistakes even those of us who want peace and are against this war because lets face it, saddam and all those terrorists don't like americans too well....kthulhu wrote: Anyhow, odds are this war will be over fairly quick.
