tacooe wrote:well I'm 17 and have never had a boyfriend either. I've never had a Valentines card or anything and I'm thinking that that's not such a bad thing, I hate people who get all worked up when they don't get a card or over priced flowers. I'm not bothered though, it doesn't mean anything if they only express they're love or affection on such a conventional and boring day. The worst gift has to be those tacky teddy bears that hold hearts and spout some sentimental shit, I would so dump someone if they bought me that, if someone who I was attached to was so possessed to do so.
i have not had a girlfriend either, but i suppose i dont see a point at this time, i mean the percent of high school relationships that actually make it are scary enough especially if i'm going military, so i'd rather just wait. anyways, i agree with tacooe, i mean Valentine's Day simply is not something to get worked up over. wouldn't it mean more for you and your signifigant other to celebrate privately on a day that means something to the two of you, V-Day almost makes it seem like a parade to see just who got what. and there seems to be somewhat of a lack of originality. sorry just got done reading Cyrano DeBergerac, and it would seem that all that really happens is "I Love You" with some flowers, a bear or something and that's the day. i know it is hard for one to express their feelings fully and honestly but would that not mean more than just the norm? in that sense i wish i was like Cyrano, for those of you who have read it, you know what i'm talking about, for those who haven't, pick up the book and you'll see.

i'm not saying there's is anything wrong with those of you who wish to celebrate your relationship on this day but i know you can think of something better. i hope that came out as good as it sounded in my head (probably not) oh well. Sayonara.

... far too many people have interpreted sad as, (Whoa, these things actually have a use) I'm moreso referring to the poor pathetic, but no exactly depressed, loners out there who don't really care.

I think the language barrier is starting become apparent.
