WHEEEEEEEEEE WE GET THE FUCKING SHOWERS AND LITTLE SNAKES BECAUSE THATS ALL OUR STATE ALLOWS. HOORAY. IT'S FUN!
Plus, I live in a neighborhood that's regularly patrolled by cops because of the constant drug and gang shit at one corner of it, so illegal fireworks are out of the picture.
Happy fourth, everyone.

I went to a suprisingly good (at 28 minutes long) fire works display in a rather poor area of Ohio, near Nelsonville Ohio. It was called Thunder in the Valley and was kinda fun.
Not long after we get there, but it looks like it's going to rain. They say that it'll go on no matter what, so I elect to save the bleacher seats with one measly unbrella while ponchos are retrieved for later...well what happens but as soon as I am left alone but it begins to pour. There is nowhere for cover in that big field, my car has gone, and my only real choice is to pathetically sit on the bleachers hiding under my umbrella while it rained....I am sure I looked pretty pathetic
And what do you know, but it stops right when the ponchos arrive.
Ah well, rain feels really good on a hot day anyway.
Then about an hour later, a crapload of fireworks from the set up go off...obviously not a test ^_^ It was still light so they went for about a minute but you coudn't see too much. Turns out someone was messing with the controls...thankfully no one was near them for the accident. They sent a truck to Lancaster to pick up some replacements and the show was delayed just a half hour after the former start time at 10:00pm. But that accident happened about 7 pm.
Afterwards, I got to ride in a train engine for the scenic railroad. We made some friends with one of the engineers the year before and got a free ride in the coolest part of a train. It was a 50 year old retired freight engine. Pretty darn cool.
