Hehe Favorite car I'm going to say 1975-77 Ford Granada or 1979 Lincoln continental Mk 5.
Purity is wackable!

Agreed on the Impala. I also like the Caprice, especially the 80s versions, but those are dying out  .

Nothing says "ROAD AUTHORITY" like a massive 80s Chevy Caprice.

The Cavalier me and klinky have is a pretty nice little vehicle. And it's ours, all ours!

The vehicle I would most like to own: a GENUINE Hummer, not that shitty H2 bastardization. I hate the H2, hate it with a vengeance. Or a German diesel BMW or Benz.
I'm out...

Oh where to begin. I have two sets of favorites, ones I will be buying and ones I most likely never will but can't keep from swooning over..

First off, once my 98' Mercury is paid off in 2005, I WILL be buying a black Grand AM GT with ram air. They come with a nice and solid 3.6 V6 sized engine yet still get pretty good gas mileage. I have been wanting one for years. However, for some reason Pontiac as decided to start putting fake cold air intakes in the hood on many GTs which just insults me...the last thing I want to be, is like a ricer...putting in worthless chicken wire looking holes Mine will be legit but looks just like the fakes.

Other than that, a silver Trans AM, pre-Iroc Z style would be super keen.

Cars that I like but can't see myself affording include a Viper in the classic blue, a Roadster or a Diablo even though I can't see myself actually driving any of those.
Awesome choices! However, Pontiac is coming out with a new '04 Grand Am with a racing package, including some nice sticky tires, a supercharged 3.8L (the 3800 can get up to 325 lb-ft of torque, and 280 hp blown), and a 1 1/4" front and 7/8" rear sway bars.

As for my favorite cars, here we go:

My first car: A 1968 Pontiac GTO, with the 400 cid Pontiac big block, TH400R tranny, a '70 GTO 12-bolt rear-end with 3.55:1 rear gears, and an Eaton posi. However, I sold this car, because the red-neck bastard I bought it from did a horrible job "restoring it" (we're talking duct tape and bailing wire!), and Oregon is by far THE WORST STATE FOR CARS. Oregon has the worst public roads and highways, basic autoparts shops charge an arm and a leg for musclecar parts, and finally, all the liberals up here do nothing but bitch and whine about all the smog from V8s.

My dream car: 1987 Buick Grand National GNX. Misty, this is the car you really ought to be looking for! These things are awesome! The Grand National started off as the Buick Turbo Regal, but branched off as a sleeper. Litterally, the only paintjob available for these cars was black on more black. These cars were the reason the 3.8L V6 (aka the 3800) started being turbocharged on everything, from LeSabres to the '89 Pontiac Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car.

A car that's impossible for me to afford, but I would love to own/drive:
The Mad Max black pursuit special (1973 Australian Ford Falcon XB GT coupe). The Ford 351 Cleaveland produced from '70 to '74 was an awesome high-performance 5.7L, and was used in Torino Cobras, Mustangs, and on occasion, a Maverick or two. The idea of an on/off supercharger system is feasible, and available on Eaton superchargers for EFI cars of 1.5-5.0 liters. As for the drive train, I'd prefer to update the car with a Richmond or Tremec 5-speed w/ overdrive, or possibly be incredibly nutty, and use a Lenco 5 speed (imagine five levers to shift gears, one being used for a seperate reverse-gear module).

A car that would be a fun project for the local cruise-in: A 1973-'75 Chevy Corvette Stingray, with the ZL1 aluminum block 427, using Edelbrock's new Pro-Flo EFI system for big-block Chevys (no more crappy electric chokes!). I don't like all the chrome and girly styling of the '68 models, but then again, build quality went way down after '67, and just got worse until the fifth generation (C5) came out.

A supercharged 3.8 L engine for the GT? :9

Hmm...perhaps I will consider letting them pay off my remaining balance with the trade in value (utilize the cash back towards the down payment deals they are sure to have) and get my hands on one of those 2004 models instead of the 2005. I have been afraid they'd change the body on the GT's after what they did to the SE model for 2003. And I really want to get a new one...even though it's a year or more in the future.

I really love the old style Pontiacs and their sound. That is the only real bad thing about today's sport cars is they have style and power but their voices are weak.
