I switched avatars a bit when I first joined, before I settled on this one. And all of them featured guys (while I'm a girl). But...except for Hiei, they were all effeminate in the pics I used, subdued more than anything. So I guess it depends on whether you see the pic as being 'girly' or not.
I use it because I like him and it's a beautiful pic. ^_^
