You got .NET working on Linux? Cool.
The CLR, C#, and C# class libraries have all been implemented, to either completion or some significant degree, in Mono.

Personally I think the CLR is the only really cool part of .NET but I'm weird :P

As far as "Gundam" goes:

It sounds like DW just read /usr/share/dict/buzzwords again. If he IS telling the truth, it sounds like a bunch of DU weirdos tried to re-implement Cygwin and failed :P

If I want UNIX with a pretty face, I'll just go buy a G4 or a G5 and dump Mac OS X on it. If I want UNIX for a server, I'd just go use Debian/Gentoo/{Free/Open}BSD. If I want UNIX for a workstation, I'd probably get my Gentoo CD out.

Lindows is nothing more than basically Redhat with a Windows KDE skin and WINE setup already and other things for $60 US. Much easier to get Gentoo and spend $0 (unless you want the "pressed" CDs which are like $2 US and that's it) and merge everything from Portage.

On the subject of PCs, Timelessblurr, who said we were using XP? I rarely use XP now, I'm in Gentoo-KDE right now. XP sucks, it's 2000 SP3 with the eyecandy (although I do have a skinned toolbar :D like Tabs's)

You can install Linux onto nearly any architecture now a days. Mac, x86, x86-64 is in production (I believe that's the AMD64 and Opterons), Alpha, even an XBox.

x86-64 support has been done.

Lindows gives you their Click-n-Run service, which I've heard is pretty neat. They also sponsor several projects (i.e. kde-look.org), so that $60 does come back to you.

I wouldn't say that Lindows fixes everything with regards to Windows compatibility. There have been some Windows applications (i.e. Flash) that I use but can't get WINE to run properly (even now). Which is why I keep an XP machine around, so that I can use both OSes at once if I need to (and I often do).

I also find it amusing that most of the people here who say "GET LINUX IT R0XX0RZ DEATH TO M$" are still bound to Windows in one way or another.
