It always sucks to be the one left over....all you have to look forward to is spending the rest of your life with some yappy toy poodle and guilt tripping the grandkids into doing your yardwork.

who said it was funny? I said it would suck

I was just caught up in reminescence of that thread where you told off the guy right above you, so I went with it.

Marriage
I don't see myself liking one thing forever, but in marriage its a compromise, understanding and such. so when I want someone around wish will be more then not, I'll have the one I want. No searching. If I need to get away for a while, I can. But even now I know it's a choice I can see myself making over and over.
People who think marriage is a burden, basically shouldn't ever get married.
287 days before the day comes though. So I got time.

You only said it once, so it took longer to notice. We're not the only ones, Phade and a few others, and before too long, MJ as well.MistyCaldwell wrote:Interesting you ask; which do you prefer when hardly anyone here has ever been married -_-...many have never even had a conjugal visit....
I know Ashyukun and RichLather are married. Perhaps I can summon one of them by calling their names three times...
After being married for coming up on 2 and a half years, I would have to say I easily prefer being married to being single- but it fits my personality and style better. Don't get me wrong- marriage is at times anything but easy and is by no means for everyone. But at least IMO, it is very rewarding. But it is a lot of work sometimes, and not just from being ordered to clean up and "Do this" or "Do that" (ironically, in my case, I'm the one who gets annoyed when the apartment doesn't get cleaned for some time and my wife just doesn't seem to notice/care).
When you're married, you have someone who you can lean on and turn to for help without shame when you need it- and that you have to be there for them when they need the same. It's a constant game (poor wording, but the best I can think of on short order) of compromises to find a median where you can both either be happy or at least accept it. It's also about being willing to make sacrifices for your spouse's happiness- and not keeping score of who has made more of these sacrifices.
It also takes a lot of adjusting from primarily being concerned with yourself to including someone else in that concern pretty much full-time. I'm not very surprised that most marriages that fail seem to do so in the first few years- especially when you make the transition directly from being a college student to being a married member of the working world, it is quite a culture shock and takes a lot of adjustment- especially if you are moving away from where you have established friends.
OK, I'm not sure where I'm going with this. -_-;; I guess I've always seen myself getting married, and now being married just feels right to me. It isn't a cure-all for everyone though. It takes a lot of work, sacrifice, and dedication- and the amount of these required can be quite daunting at times. For me though, it's completely worth it. A simple kiss from my wife can completely erase my annoyance over a particularly lousy day of work, and her smile and laugh will light up the darkest of my days....

J-0080: I can't wait
Every single time I have my fortune done or do it myself I always get the same result...that I'll have two children, one boy and one girl....I want more though...about four (In total) I'd say..twins would be fun....lol, but then again that may change after I've had a child...Angelx03: Something to the effect that your dad wanted more kids but your mother claims two is enough...

4 kids is a decent number. My dad wanted more than SIX!Moonlight Soldier wrote:J-0080: I can't wait
