Wtf Acura is just a rebadged nissan! Let's not make this a my car is better than yours thread. I love american cars and I lament the fact that car styling today looks like poop.

Mr Oni
Umm no, an Acura is a "rebadged" honda. Well and a little more than that too. Trust me, they arent the same car. I test drove both the new
Accord V6, and the new Acure CL Type S(which from the outside do look almost the same), there were signifigant differences, especially in power and handling. Also, I would reccomend the stick shift Acura Cl Type S over the Integra has far has acuras go. Gonna cost you bit a more though.

Geez. The is more to a great car than it's looks. Some of the best ones with the best engines don't look like rice...and I have seen "4 cyl. racing" at the local track. It was pathetic. People brought out their (racing body type) honda and what not. I couldn't wait for the bee swarm sound to leave. Then the late model mods showed them what racing was all about and threw up clouds of dirt...it's what's on the inside people!

Anyway, I test drove some Hondas when I got my last car. I really thought they were over rated. That doesn't mean that a real racing Honda is bad, but people are too much about Brand. How many people have even drove the cars they say they prefer? I did not ('cause of the price) get my Grand AM GT last time around but I fell in love at the test drive.

I have drove all kinds of cars and trucks in my life from a 89 Sierra truck, 82,84, and 81 Plymouth Reliants (oh god..shoot them all), a 90's saturn sport model (yawn), my sister in law's 97 Honda, 91 sunbird, 80's model Chevy caprice, an 80's Chevy Cargo Full sized Van, a 97 Ford Ranger, 89 Chevy S-10 Blazer lowered 4.3 L V6 with high flow exhaust, and my current 1998 Mercury Mystique.

I can tell you the ones that were the most fun to drive don't have a 1990's number. The Blazer could push you back in your seat from a stand still without effort. Now, you can floor any car but these little imports withuot the sport engines (just the looks) are just a car...it's just sad to see people get so proud of them when they really don't have experience driving a good sized engine even if it's pulling a heavier car.

What year and model? The '96+ LeSabres are known for having some seriously crappy electrical harness problems, A/T issues, and some major TSB's on the brakes. The Centuries hold up relatively well.

This is the basic rule for any GM product: If it's not a car or truck built for the average nuclear family consisting of 2 kids, and the chassis/unibody isn't produced at more than one factory (the 4th generation Camaros/Firebirds were all built in a specialized factory designed for F-body only production, in St. Therese, Canada), then build quality is definately going to be low.

If you're looking for performance from a GM product, here's what you have to look for:

Y-bodies (Corvette): 2nd Generation: 1963-1967: Build quality at it's peak, and the ZL1 427 offered in the Stingray in '67.

A-bodies (Chevelle, GTO, 442, Skylark, El Camino): 1968-1970 ('64-'67 is good, but '68-'70 are the years GM released the ban of high output big-blocks in mid-sized cars, while '71-'73 are the beginnings of poor build quality, increading emissions restrictions, etc).

B-bodies (Impala, Caprice, Bonneville): 1968-1970 (follows the same rules as above)

F-bodies (Camaro/Firebird): First Generation (1967-1969), and first half of Second Generation (1970-1973). Horsepower and emissions restrictions start kicking in at '73, but the Firebird still had the optional 400 big block through those years. If you're looking for a '67-'69 Camaro, keep an eye out for any "Yenko 427" badging, or the appropriate VIN numbers for signs of a COPO Camaro (a special-optioned Camaro open to ANY GM performance options meant for use in government/corporate fleets, but a few were ordered by private citizens with the ZL1 427, and enough tough suspension hardware to make them the ultimate sleeper).

X-body (Nova): 1966-1970. 1970 is the first, and last year the 402 V8 (a bored-out version of the classic 396) was offered.

Chevy S-10/GMC S-15/Blazer/Jimmy: 1982-1992. These models simply just won't die, especially the 4.3L V6.

Well, i know that its the inside that counts, but you can always make changes, and keep the body.....So id like to get a good looking car, and modify it to my own choosing, cause i love doing stuff like that, i bought a computer that looked nice on the outside, and made it much better, so ill do the same with cars

People can have any preference they want O_o I am just saying that people should at least drive something before they can say it sucks.

And in the same vein, people should drive a V-tech engine before they say it rules heavan and earth over a domestic V6 or V8.

Ah well..people won't be realistic and logical just because I want them to -_-
