FOr what its worth I come from Alberta a province that gets so pissed off at tthis liberal shit that it makes its own right wing parties. The last time an elected official of a libral party was elected in calgary was in the 60s.And also Canada is a liberal hell hole, do you want that too?kthulhu wrote:We have doctor assisted suicide here in Oregon.
No weed though.
We grow a lot of grass seed in this state, so I bet marijuana would do well here.
While were at it:
<a href="http://members.ams.chello.nl/m.elfers/h ... >Amsterdam marijuana and hashish daily price quotes</a>. Apparently it's about US $8.00 a gram right now.
And R-A-N-M-A:
1. Isn't Canada, with its wealth of social services, hate speech laws, etcetera already something of a liberal hellhole?
2. And what good does it do anyone, to lock up people for nothing more than possessing a simple drug that makes people happy and goofy for a hours, depriving them of their freedom and happiness, as well as the monetary (marijuana price inflation because of the illegal status of marijuana, non drug police seizures, the cost of keeping people locked up, court mandated meetings, creating a potentially unemployable citizen who could otherwise pay taxes) and social (stretching police resources that could be used for other crimes, creating a mistrust and dislike of police, non-voluntary ruination of employment records, the erosion of civil rights from stepped up law enforcement by overzealous anti-drug politicians) costs.
Marijuana criminalization is an expensive, failed policy.

TheRealNeoHentaiMaster I'm an avid smoker, I know what I'm talking about.
And for everyone saying homicides won't increase because of weed alone, I'm with you. It will increase though if it's elgalized because people will abuse it and not only smoke weed, but drink, snort, inject thmselves, take bottles of cough syrup and liquid codein. You guys need to pay closer attention to what I wrote, weed is not enough to increase homicide rates, but if it's elgalized rates will go up. Especialy since there are rumors like, if you get drunk and smoke weed you won't have a hang over, it's shit like that that provokes people into mixing substances.
I only stated the facts, this is why it's not legal amungst the other reasons I posted before. But so you guys know, I'm for it, I weas just giving the governments point of view. I know I'm not stupid enough to fuck myself up and drive, and I'm definetly a defensive driver, so go for legalization. Just because none of us are going to die though doesn't mean no one will.

You'll note that crack and heroin and extracted codiene would all still be illegal and if you can get them now you can them and weed, weed has a higher street availability then hard drugs. This means if you want to try a combo then you'll be able to get weed as if you were going to the cornerstore in comparison.Jace Tsunami wrote: It will increase though if it's elgalized because people will abuse it and not only smoke weed, but drink, snort, inject thmselves, take bottles of cough syrup and liquid codein.

Alberta does have its speratists, but It would not be the fist province to go. Canada's official french province, Quebec has been trying to seprate since its inception. But Alberta has been constatantly jilted by the federal gouvernment, if any province were to all of a sudden join the US thoght, it would be Alberta. We have Oil, farming mountains. Can you tell your prezidant to conquor us?

I've smoked my fair share of weed, dude.. you don't need to tell me about paranoia. You're not Mr. Weed Dr., educating the masses, here. And furthermore, i said YOU reek, not I reek.TheRealNeoHentaiMaster wrote: And garylisk, OK, I could understand how some people might not like that smell, but the whole "after you smoke it you smell like it for hours" thing is bullshit. Thats just paranoia of first timers. I went through the same thing. You think you still smell it, but its not really there, trust me. Has for those stinky stoners, well, either they smoke A LOT OF WEED, and are always hot boxing(smoking in a small room or space so you keep rebreathing the smoke and get a lot more high) or, in all likely hood, they also smoke cigerettes, and thats what makes them smell.
And also, it's not just first-timers that get paranoid when they smoke it. I knew a guy who smoked a blunt a day and got all pissy-paranoid every single time.

Grah...
All this about car accidents and everything increasing if weed was legalized is null because weed is so accessible that anyone that really wants it and wants to drive will do that because they can. Just because they legalize weed doesn't mean that it will be legal to drive under the influence. So there is nothing more to stop them from driving as it is.
Blah blah blah.

I believe the car accident bits are there to rebuttal the claim that driving high makes you drive better. Although I can see how you may not drive as badly having one beer rather than having a case or being midly high as opposed to not being able to sit on a chair without falling off. I see lots of degrees.
And you are right that nothing stops people from driving that way now. Indeed they do since pot is quite socially acceptable. As evidenced by (nearly) this entire thread.
