kamoc in this case it isn't stupid internet shit.. its art.. granted its internet art but if someone goes through their whole life thinking that an unfinished line is good art then well....
Last thing I'll say unless questioned...
#1 sure chaos is good in some things... but even chaos in art needs a underlying organizing principle... in this case its a similar form repeated over and over... repetition... repitition can be a very good thing and a powerful element.. but when its not pulled off it stands out... notice the varying line elements... thickness and thiness of the rendered feathers. IF its chaos in action it should be more chaos and not just be slightly off from perfect... if its chaos it should go full for it and not halfway....
#2 the lines in teh fingers are not what you want in a well rendered semi realistic picture... notice the giant knuckle? how about the slightly wavy line...
if you wanted to get real picky the foreshortening on the top leg is off... but neh.. thats just being too picky imho... image provided for reference to points 1 and 2.

Well saidLord Rae wrote:Nature and especially angels and winged beings conform to the geometry of realism... look a shell out of the ocean.. notice the nice clean spiral? Look a birds wings... Notice the nice clean lines? maybe if it was a chaotic arrangment but the feathers were nicely rendered... or if they had some details of feathers in them... Then you could talk alot about realism.. but nope.. its not there man.
I agree with what you said about the background being beneficial, but I don't think it was Euro being unsure about his talent that caused him not to draw one. There could be a number of factors, such as time constraints. I think he felt like he needed to post something as soon as possible, so he didn't take a much time as he could have if he had alloted himself more time. Then again, maybe he doesn't like backgrounds! We don't really know until he tells us. Again, I think he's very talented, and I've seen some of his other stuff. Compared to most of it, I'd rank this at about 75% of his potential. If he put a little more time into it, he could have improved the picture greatly.Lord Rae wrote:A background does more than "distract" you if its done right... in this case the lack of a background doesn't point to a higher purpose... Its left that was because the artist was unsure of his talent. Unsure of his technique. The blank background distracts from the picture because its blank. its stark white... it draws your eye more than the lines in the picture.
Don't you know, Rae? Being a grown-up means that you can make fun of people and use naughty words!Lord Rae wrote:nope.. thats something the artist should decide.... but in this case ANYTHING would have been preferable to blank space...What the fuck do you want, pretty-ful cloudz andeh da yellow sun?
Also I'm sure that when art critics don't agree they look at one another and say "Grow up, you suck at comparing art."
Yep.... thats what the grown ups do...

KhayotiK: Nit-picking isn't always a bad thing, OK? I think Euro and Wonka both appriciate it more when someone says why they voted for/against them that just saying"Euro" or "Wonka." It's the "gown-up" thing to do (Not as smooth as Neo ) Speaking of which, you're just showing your immaturity by complaining and picking fights that serve no purpose. Did anyone attack you? No, I certainly didn't. You attacked me, and I'm not fighting back. I also think that Euro and Wonka will respect mine and Rae's opinions over yours because of the way we word them. Yes, believe it or not, but the way you say something effects the way people interpret it!

IM SO CLOSE TO GIVING A SHIT I COULD GIGGLE!
How the fuck do you expect me to care? I intended my remarks to be half assed, because I don't really give a fuck. Thats right, fuck fuck fuck! Furthermore, how much more mature are you than I if the two of you are going to be slapping eachothers asses and HIGHLIGHTING MISTAKES?! I want to hit you both with a shovel and bury your unconcious bodies under a bridge for taking this so far and in such a gay way it makes my asshole cringe in fear. If you really want to be a tough guy, go ahead. I'm not saying I'll read your whole post but I'm sure I'll reply, this is bumping up my post count like no other.
