I was just wondering if anyone here playes Ragnarok Online. If so I wanted to know if it is worth paying for a registration. Also if anyone does play, a few screen shots would be nice.

I tried it during the beta, but it is not worth any money. It's really just a glorified chatroom with weird masks and genreic avatars.

SoA was alright, but it wasnt worth the money I spent on it.... It didnt have the same feel as the original, nor was it as fun.

It's way too simple for my use, actually. But then, Ragnarok Online is good for n00bs who don't have a PhD in RPGs...

Aside from the idiotic default GUI looking like M*c O$ X, the Aegis component model is quite cruddy. Did you hear about the gender flaw? Yes, the client does crash on a bad gender. And you'd wonder why "Open Source" and "Open Sores" rhyme.

That reminds me, it's time to do some hacking.
I'll bet you dollars to donuts that the Client *and* the Aegis server will buffer overflow if I exceed number of objects or tag length, etc, by 65535.
Make that 2^32 and I'm willing to wager on a MySQL crash.
2^64 and Dumbian Linsucks will seg fault, kernel panic, and/or play the tune from "Britney Spears - Oops I did it again!"

i never played the original, and SoA is only 34$ ... canadien ... so it's pretty good for me ... now i jsut need to buy it ...
