Alright, for those of you who don't remember/are new, about a year ago or so, maybe a little less, I organised an art contest here at the org. Everything went down tournament style and people had fun with it. Wonka finally won in a controversial and crazy final between him and HCP. Then I tried to do it all again a few months after that, but it fell apart in the middle mainly due to lack of people submitting entries on time/voters. Then I tried a third time a few months after that, but only a good 5 people showed interest due to the fact that General off topic was a little craptacular at that point and not many people were posting.

So, here we are again, I'm gonna go for attempt #3 at redoing this baby. Here's the scoop, three catagories of eight people each. Participants may enter in one or two catagories, but NOT all three (I just don't want the possibility of one person winning all three). The voting will be done tournament style, much like the first GFX con, and winners will be decided by who reaches 7 votes first in round 1, 10 votes in round 2, and 15 votes in round 3. The catagories are...

1: Completely Hand Drawn: You may use anything but a computer/printing device to do your work. Paint Pens/Heavy colored pencils are recommended. Your work must be absolutely 100% done by you, but you may, of course, use characters from anything you want (anime, etc), but the actual drawing/painting/whatever must be done by you and you alone.

2: Completely Computer: This catagory is art that you creat using nothing BUT your computer, no scanning or anything of the like. You may NOT rip original graphics from other people, but you may use anime characters and whatnot. Still, at least 40-50% of the peice must be completely done from scratch (this rule is somewhat bendable, PM me if you are unsure about your entry). You may use any program available to you.

3: Mix of both: This catagory is for those of you who like to scan your hand drawn works and dress them up using your computer. In order to participate in this catagory, some of you work MUST be hand done, and some of it MUST be done using a computer. Once again, if you're unsure about your entry belonging in this catagory, PM me, but these parameters are pretty straightforeward.

As of right now I'm going to allow eight participants in each catagory, but if the numbers swell I may up one or two of them to 16. There will also be a judges award for each catagory, and a judges favorite entry (I will be ineligable for any of these). I'm not sure what the prizes will be yet, sometimes its fun just to compete for the hell of it, but I may think of something to give out (ops maybe?).

As of right now I don't have any dates or the complete set of official rules, the main purpose of this thread is to see who would be willing to/interested in entering given these general parameters. As of now it looks like this:

If all numbers are taken, post which catagory you wish to enter in and you will be waitlisted for if the catagory expands due to lots of interest, or if somebody drops out. So yeah, start entering people.

I'll take the 'Hand Drawn' category.

Potentially, the Hand Drawn + computer, too, but only if you're short on contestants.
