Channel 1

So I'm hanging out with these 6th graders today and we start watching an amazingly silly show called Channel 1.

How many schools are forced to suffer this travesty they called News?
I should have just let the kids hit each other, it would have been more productive. Not legal or ethical, just more productive.

btw, planning block rules....

OMG! I remember seeing that so-called "news" before back in high school. They always show that every morning in homeroom. It's kind of funny since it made lots of people in my homeroom leave.

I remember that show from back in the day. Oviouslly you aren't the only teacher who feels this way about CH1. The teachers were forced to have this on in the morning during "homeroom/planning/whatever else schools call this time period" but they always let the kids turn the volume down and just play games or talk.

I remember Channel 1. I used to always fall asleep during that everyday. It's so pointless that it is sad.

My school day keeps getting better.
Language Arts is coming up, and I get to read to the class.

I went to a Public School from K to 3rd Grade, and a "Private/Public" school from 4th to 7th (Homeschooled now), so I missed this Channel 1 thing.

And it sounds like that is good.

I guess that I'm in one of the lucky schools that don't watch this Channel 1 that you speak of. We just have morning announcements over the PA. (ha ha ha!!
