Comp won't see Burner 0_o
Well, there's no real only computer hardware help section, so I hope this is fine here. ^_^
Ok, I have a regular CD drive, and now a burner. I want to have both in my computer. First problem was that the cable only had enough space for one slot. Question: Is having 2 drives on one cable fine? I have this for my harddrives, but I thought it would work for the drives too.
Second, I did already put it all in, and power in on for the drive. But the computer does not see anything. Add new hardware cannot find it. Is there any other way to activate it?

I assume that you have your 2 harddrives both on one cable, and your CD-ROM on the other. (?)
You can just stick your burner up to the cable with your CD-ROM, but you have to jumper one of them master and the other slave. #_#
They're the little plugs on the back of your drives. Normally there is a description of how to position them for master and slave, otherwise check the manual for it.
Then the PC should auto-detect the new drive ^_^
Peace out,

Yay! That was all I had to do. Thanks a lot Aetherfukz. Now I have 2 HDDs, a CD-ROM and a CD-Recorder. I still can't believe the dumb cable they attach to the CD-ROM already inside has only one spot! When there is still 2 more slots in a computer. I had to snatch the HDD cable from my brother's computer. Don't worry about his computer though. It's been screwed anyways for the past month. It doesn't even get to the Windows screen. But we can just go buy a cable for his tomorrow.

No problem ^_^
Yes, it's really dumb they only put a cable with one spot with their CD drives. But what I hate far more, is when I buy a new HD, and there are no screws with them? Now how am I supposed to put it into my PC then, huh? I had this a few times, and believe me, there are absolutely no normal screws that fit into these slots! -_-

Ya, that sucks too.
Guess what? NEW problem! The burner works as a CD drive, and is burns the cds, but I can't see a thing on my burned cds. It's like it finalizes the CD without putting anything on it. But it says it has 694MB on it, but there's nothing to show for it! Looks like I'm going back to square one... RE-INSTALLATION

I'm using Easy CD Creator 5 Basic.
Lets put it this way, this was in my brother's computer, but his computer stopped working. I won't go into his problems for now, I've delt long enough with that. So I pulled it out, put it my computer. It's the slave right now. It reads cds, and burns something. Right now, i'm just going to re-install the software. It always worked on my brother's computer, so it's not like it's a problem because it's new.
