While tinkering with the Xbox port of StepMania I got to thinking about StepMania with anime music videos as their background content. So I thought I'd put this out there, would there be any interest in putting together shortened edits of peoples AMVs (Cut to 1:30-2:00) that are danceable with the appropriate StepMania simfiles to make a StepMania AMV edition, something that might be interesting to have on display at anime conventions and such.
Wouldn't you like to DDR to Waka Laka For Osaka or someting? :3
I just thought I'd put this out there to get peoples comments and such.

There was something started over a year ago ... it kinda died though http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/v ... hp?t=69576
Of course that is assuming it wasn't all a big ruse to begin with which is entirely possible.

Well, I came to this idea when toying with StepMania and realizing "I could make a stepfile for my own music video?" (Though apparently there's no simfile for Ready To Go by Republica)
But I can't quite do this alone, er, that is, without permission of the original editors. I think it's one thing to show AMVs without permission, another to hack up their AMV to fit a shorter run time and then squeeze it into a computer game.
So I'd like to see if there's any real interest in doing this before seeing how easily it can be done.

Well, yes. I threw the other thread out there as a contact lst for people that had been interested in it in the past. Who knows, maybe you can get the OP to actually get his act together and finish the thing. If his claims are correct it's something like 90% done for over a dozen videos already.
