Need a song for Gunslinger Girl

OK. Soooo...Recently, I've been really into the GSG manga, and I just started watching the anime (it's really good!) a week or 2 ago. For those unfamiliar with Gunslinger Girl (since it's not nearly as mainstream as, say, Bleach or whatever), the basic plotline is about an Italian government agency that turns little girls into assassins. It's mainly focusing on the relationships between the girls and each other, and the girls and their "handlers".

I reeeeally want to make an amv with it, but I can't think of a good song. (Most of the stuff I tend to listen to is too mainstream and happy. XD) Any ideas? I only have the first two dvds, not the whole series, but that shouldn't make much of a difference. (It's only a 13 episode series, tho I hear the 2nd season is starting in Japan in January, yay!)

I basically need a song that could be used with lots of kind of soulless shooting scenes, but also lots of reminiscing angsty/cute/sad scenes.

I would have recommended Seether but that's out of question cause they're not allowed here..

I once thought about a Gunslinger Girl AMV idea but then I trashed it as I started watching the anime and didn't like it. The idea was about portraying the abuse of the girls (the show wasn't exactly about that though it seems like so):

Hurt - Abuse of SID

Also, listening to Staind's Chapter V album, I think there might be songs by Staind that could go well with Gunslinger Girl. Sorry, I haven't listened to the band that much so I can't recommend anything too specific..

i've always thought that "a warm place" from Nine Inch Nails "the downward spiral" would be good for a vid like this. imagine lots of gunfire, death, carnage, etc, intermixed with a calming scene. that could be a shower, an embrace, lying in bed, etc. see if GSG has any scenes like that (i haven't watched much of the anime, just read the manga).

also FN-P90 FTW.
