Okay,to most of you guys this is gonna sound crazy and will reply at me with the words...please..don't kill us with this.
Still,I'm very interested in sharing opinions in this topic...

My idea:

I'm actually planning to create a video on a song from Tokio Hotel,a German band which most usually perform with German songs,though they have also released an English album in Europa,and a preview single in the U.S.
The song would be one of their latest,1000 Meere (translated: 1000 Seas)
It's a song about romance,going the distance together bla bla bla..you know the drill.
I know many people are not really fond of the band,but what I want to ask is this:

Is it possible to create a high standard AMV to that song,without losing points when it comes to opinions because people don't like the band?

Please feel free to awnser,since I'm a bit desperate to this.

I'd say yes.

In my opinion a good AMV can make me like the song.

For example, there's no way in hell I would have listened to the song "candypop" until I watched "Skittles" and now I play it regularly (even without watching the AMV).

That being said, it's understandable when some people will have some negative feelings towards an AMV because the song doesn't appeal to them.

I'd say if the song matches what your concept is, then go with it, because if it fits teh concept there's not much to complain about.

Well, that's my uneducated opinion on the matter.

If someone rates your Video low just because of the song, hes a f*cking Noob and his Opinions isnt worth sh*t.

The Only Point where you can (and probably will) lose points because of the song/band, is the re-view ability. Why would someone want to to watch the Video again if he hates the band/song?

if the amv is well edited and has a good concept, even with a not so liked song you can get people to like it take for example judgeholdens fighten dirty

im really not a fan of that type of music but i still watch this amv a bit cause i really like the style. remember yes some people will say 'oh i didnt like it cause i dont like that music' but everyone has different tastes right? you cant expect to win everyone every time

I agree to the latter two. go read a little of the bio of that shitty band, actually listen to what KIND of "song structure" and instrumentalisation these guys use and get into real music.
