I would think that they tend to get fewer views, talking from my experience. I know that I tend to not watch them. If I want to see movie trailers I'd go to the theater or just watch tv until one came up. Better yet, Id just look for them on the internet. But thats assuming that I want to see them in the first place, and i usually don't.

i think they are much easier to make than a full vid....

/me hasn't made one

actually I'm in the process of making one as a collab and it's damn easy... if you aren't doing much in the way of effects.

But in terms of a review unless they are fuck awsum I don't tend to rate them very high.
Advent Blade, A killer's requiem, Plunder propagander and Chronicals of ghibli come to mind.
new banzors in the making :p

Trailers often get a lesser welcome from my experience. Con's especially seem to have a fid them. Not so much the Con itself but the Con visitors. A good example that I'll always remember is when I had my F.E.A.R. trailer premiere at a local con. There were people sitting behind us and they were commenting amongst each other during the showings. And people were dismissing F.E.A.R. for not being a Music video and thus it sucked.

Just my 2 cents

There's something to think about: do you think the same kinds of people would dislike other spoken word videos, like Quid Pro Quo? (Not to single out that video, I just can't think of any other examples at the moment.)

Maybe you should send it to Aussie cons? Plunder Propergander went over really well at manifest and had the whole hall laughing... only a thousand people or so.

Yeah Australian conventions generally enjoy parodic AMVs as we hardly have any editors, or people who actually know enough to be able to think "this isn't an AMV" etc... in typical nature of Australians we just enjoy what we see in front of us =O

In any case I had a lot of fun making my trailer AMV, I was just playing around and didn't take it that seriously but it was more fun to make than anything else I've editted mainly because I love internal synch and going through code geass looking for movements or actions which can be internally synch was awesome. I think I'll do another trailer sometime.
