Looking for shocking deaths in anime [spoilers]

Alright, I was asked to make a new AMV for an upcoming convention, and a friend gave me the idea of making a GOOD video of a top five list. Its not going to be like made in a list format like you see on youtube all the time. Its going to be a ligament AMV format video, but focusing on five characters. Kind of like Meri's recent video "I Walk Alone", but with my own twist.

Now what I need help with is finding characters for the category I made. Since most of them you have seen all over the place (ex. Best Male, Best Girl, Best Fighting... etc.), I figured I would do something totally out of character for me, since I hate depressing stuff. My theme is the Five Most Sentimental Deaths in Anime. I'm talking about when that character died you started crying your eyes out and throwing stuff at the screen because they killed them off. Those characters that were just so freaking awesome, you went into fetal position after seeing them killed off. Joking aside, this topic mainly pertains to those characters that left a long lasting impression on you when they died, or that they went in a awesome way (like saving someone, or something like that).

These are the three I have so far
1. Kamina from Gurren Lagann
2. Spike from Cowboy Bebop
3. Mu La Fuga from Gundam Seed (Now granted Gundam Seed Destiny screwed up his awesome death, by bringing him back, he still went out like a man)

Now I still need two more, so any ideas would be much appreciated. Also if you dont like what I have so far, and think I should change let me know too. Thanks for all the help.

Michel from Macross Frontier = a awesome death scene, mainly because it had Sheryl singing in the background but thats another story, gave up his life to protect Klan.

Towards the Terra was full of epic and note worthy heroic deaths. Practically everyone dies by the end of the series but the better ones include: Soldier Blue sacrificing himself, also Matsuka sacrificing himself for Keith, freakin awesome scenes.

Lockon Stratos from Gundam 00 - yeah this made me want to throw something at my laptop coz he was my fave pilot and really did go out in a 'bang' pun unintended.

Teresa from Claymore - Wanted to boycott the show when I saw this.

I'll go through my anime collection and dig up more. But the above ones are worth looking at.

I was going to say Kenshin but its not I didn't want him to die, as his death gave the best possible closure to the anime.

x2 to Archer, that episode remains my fave in FSN. SO AS I PRAY UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS.

Ah man how could I forget about Archer from FSN, I cosplay him...I'm disappointed in myself, guess I'm still in denial

Anyways, thanks for the suggestions so far, I like the Archer one, and I actually thought about Lockon, cause he was the only character I liked in Gundam OO, but I wanted to wait till the second half of the series comes out to see if hes really dead, or if they bring him back like Mu.

Havent watched Claymore so I'll have to watch it to find out about Teresa. And L...eh...I think that death only affected the rabid fangirls. We knew he was going to die first, so it wasnt really a "HOLY CRAP NOOO!!!" kind of death so...but thank you for some input.

Thanks for all of the input so far, its giving me a lot of ideas. Still going to wait to get a couple more suggestions before I make a decision though.

Oh yeah I didnt even think about this being a spoiler tread...um...crap it wont let me edit it. I'll ask a MOD to do it for me.

Lockon is actually dead. The story writer said in an interview that he has no intentions on bringing him back. In the second season it looks like Lockon's twin brother will take over his spot =P
