I just call it 'deshi's harem.Bakadeshi wrote:waaaaay back when i was a young wippersnapper in the good ol days........ Ok i'm not vlad, leme start talking normal
but yea, when I was younger, in school still, I used to run a fan-site on anime and the like, which I then named Anime Universe Network. (abreviated AUN) Aftewards when I fansubed, it was called AUN Fansubs, and late AUS for Anime Univese Studios. for various reasons, including a fallthrough with one of my translators who was ripping people off under my name, I stopped fansubbing for a while and retired that name. fasforward to my first amv release, when I got to the point on the video upload page that I needed to choose a studio, AUNMV (Anime UNiverse Music Videos) was born, which then later became just AuN Studios.

My original studio that consisted of myself and my two friends I got started making AMVs with was called 'No-Brand Videos', and was an obvious play on the title of the ending theme from Koko wa Greenwood, '(We're the) No-Brand Heroes'. We all loved that show, and it was a catchy name.
My 'studio' when working on my own (or at least without those two), Electric Leech Productions, was a spin-off name from a long-running joke between my ex-wife and I involving electrified leeches. She used to work as a waterfront counselor at a Girl Scout summer camp, and they had lots of problems with leeches in the like and nothing they tried to keep them away from the swimming area seemed to work. She joked that they often debated getting a bunch of extension cords and running them down to the lake and tossing a hair dryer in to try and electrify them- hence the idea of the electric leech was born. When I started making videos again, I used that as my studio name... Electric Leech Productions just sounded better than 'studio' or 'videos' to me, and the initials (ELP) weren't too far from the sound we decided electric leeches would make (Eeep!).

Re: About the origin of the name of your Studio?
A day not to long ago I said "Holy crap I don't like maplestory anymore" and disbanded my guild to piss everyone off, then i got into this AMV thing and met a bunch of people on MSN and from talking to them i realized that they were waaay different from people on maplestory, almost like a different dimension. The name of my maplestory guild was "Your Final Destiny" so i cut out Your changed Final to Last and added in Dimension. O= afterwards i thought about changing it to "The lost dimension" but it doesn't sound so good with studios tacked to the back of it so i stuck with "Last Dimension Studios".

Huh... it's been over a year since the creation of the Visual Experience Studio...
Well anyway, some editors of the AMVX didn't want to be in that studio anymore cause there were a lot of people in it that didn't even edit or something along those lines... so they decided to make a new studio, and simo asked me to help him to find the name for it. After about an afternoon of chatting over msn (while doing other stuff, heh) we eventually came out with a name that sounded kind of cool ("Kind of, but not really" ), so we went on with VES.

I made the mistake of asking people in IRC what a cool studio name should be.
This explains why no one has joined it yet :/

Walküre (for those not german speaking) simply means Valkyrie
It was decided on after about 3 days of throwing names around between my sister and I and looking at the meaning behind each of them.
Some wiki info to explain what it means:

In Norse mythology the valkyries (Old Norse Valkyrjur "Choosers of the Slain", sg. Valkyrja) were dísir, minor female deities, who served Odin. The valkyries' purpose was to determine the victors of battles and wars, and to choose the most heroic of those who had died in battle. Freyja, called Mistress of the slain (Valfreyja) and of the Valkyries in general, chose half of these fallen heroes for her hall Fólkvangr. The rest went to Valhalla where they became einherjar. This was necessary because Odin needed warriors to fight at his side at the preordained battle at the end of the world, Ragnarök.
A Variable Fighter is a series of fictional transforming aerospace fighters primarily designed by Studio Nue's Shoji Kawamori for the animated series The Super Dimension Fortress Macross and later related projects. It is also known as a Valkyrie in the Macross universe, due to the great popularity of the first known variable fighter model used during Space War I, the VF-1 Valkyrie.
Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) is the second of the four operas that comprise Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung), by Richard Wagner. It is the source of the famous piece Ride of the Valkyries.

Re: About the origin of the name of your Studio?
My studio name actually started with me trying to get more serious wit my artwork. It's kinda strange how the timing of my life spinned it's name.
I had barely started my new job as a room reservationist for several casinos here...and one of my older co-workers called me "goth." That kinda grated on my nerves a bit, but it's better than the few times some people have dared to call me "preppy." Granted I like dark and gothic things...fairies, dark fairy art is best, I like dark colors, but I've never thought of myself as goth, and most certainy will argue with anyone who calls me preppy. Then again, this coming from a girl who wears business jackets with nice tops, and pants one day, and then wears a long skirt with combat boots the next. I have unique style. lol. At least in my new promoted position, the really nice lady has called me neither Needless to say, I'm blabbing...but the goth thing kinda stuck...my coworker in my former department still calls me goth. lol.
Then right before that time, my last couple of artworks were kinda gothy...that my whole office saw
And then I'm really big into paranormal romances...they have to be dark, have blood, and gore, and be romantic at the same time. Great combination. My favorite author Christine Feehan writes a series called the Dark series.
Hence...it kinda spewed out Dark Obsession Studios...since I needed a studio name for my art lol. And then came the AMVs.

Absolute truth is objective, but in reality truth can only be viewed as subjective through our own personal perspectives.
