From my point of view, AMVs are fan-made videos, meaning that as a fan of the footages I used, I'd like to get people interested in them.

Wasting seven years on this hobby even while getting the occasional official recognition isn't something that fills me with pride either. If anything, getting official recognition leaves me with a feeling of "Really? The standards are so low this crap I rushed for the deadline got recognition? The hobby is in even worse shape than I thought." If you're going to take pride in anything, take pride in that you did a video as best you could and like the results. If you aren't proud of that, well, being given a gold star and a pat on the head really won't improve your feelings about it.

This is one of the best quotes about this hobby that I have ever read. Seriously.

I put credits at the end of all my videos. I (for some reason) feel I must state who the artist is, what song was used, what anime was used, and even what video editor I used. I've gotten a couple of complaints that my credits are too long, but they are at the end of the video. You don't have to watch them, just stop the video.

Heck, on one of my videos, the credits at the end I feel were the best part. As pathetic as that sounds...
