Why Was My Thread Locked?
I was just wondering why my thread "Anakin's Time of Dying" was blocked. Because apparently one or more of the Admins on this site have the opinion that the video I posted there is not an AMV at all. Now don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to rage against the system or anything. I'm even all that upset about this, I just think that you made your assesment in error and I'd really like the opertunity to discuss what makes my video just as much an AMV as any other on the org.
Thanks,
LordNog

If you want to release a video with live action footage, you'll have to do it in the appropriate thread in general discussion's forum. General AMV is for the "general" discussion of AMVs, not for announcements anyway. AMV by this site's standards are animated music videos. So, in other words, just works that involve anime created in Japan, or video game cutscenes utilizing a similar fashion.

AMV here stands for "ANIME" Music Video. Star Wars is NOT an anime, therefore it cannot be announced in the AMV Announcements thread. You can use General section of the forums, though, there is one thread for LAMVs (Live Action Music Videos).

Alright, wel that works for me then I guess. As long as there's an outlet for me to share my work with others who may enjoy it and benefit from it I'm happy. I'll repost it in the section you just mentioned if that's okay. And I'm glad that we could all be civil with this. I know that sometimes on forum sites the admins get god-complexes and just ban people for any reason they can think of. Glad that you guys aren't like that. Thank you.

It should also probably be noted that one other option if you really want to use an announcement thread to announce a non AMV, you must first announce an AMV in said thread and have the non-AMV be a secondary video in the thread. That is, unless the rules have changed, in which I'll probably receive a warning when I do this for my post AWA vid announcement.

Nope, you're safe to do that. It's not like it makes sense to restrict it as long as the announcement etiquette is followed and we (i.e. the .org catalogue) get the videos entered and stored.ngsilver wrote:It should also probably be noted that one other option if you really want to use an announcement thread to announce a non AMV, you must first announce an AMV in said thread and have the non-AMV be a secondary video in the thread. The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'm just curious as to why the mod didn't just move the thread to the general discussion forum ?_?
