Eureka Seven (somewhere in the 40s episodes)

I don't think i'll be spoiling anything by saying this...

Basically, alien girl runs away from human boy she's in love with. Boy pursues and finds girl kneeling in the middle of the forest, clinging to her infected arm. Boy tries to treat the arm with no success. Girl pulls away, crying in sorrow as she feels no longer worthy of being with him anymore. Boy grabs rock and beats his own arm till it bleeds and says, "Now we're the same...if my arms swell up too we'll both be the same!" She tries to stop him...but...

Aww...man, i can't go on...*sniff*
Almost as hard as fighting a Holy Paladin.

^Though E7 has its sad moments, I don't think it really qualifies for an entirely sad series. I found that part more sweet and slightly tragic than flat out 'OHGODWHYYY *bawls*'
If the manga was animated,
then it would qualify in my books, pff.

Umm I'd say:
-CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~ (particularly the last 10 or so episodes)
-Wolf's Rain (last 4 OVAs. Oh man).
-CLANNAD's movie (same reason as After Story, but its just different animation *shrugs*)
-Ano Hana
-Tokyo Godfathers
-X

I've looked some series like Elfen Lied, they had sad moments, but It didn't feel it would fit my AMV, not enough eye-catching :p

I'll throw in "Princess Tutu."
Making an amv, is rather like being the director of a Broadway show, where you have a million dancers and each of them only knows one step.

SaiKano? I don't know if its sad out of context, but I curl up in the fetal position when I hear her voice. Same thing with the Lain intro.

*does ctrl + f*
*finds no CASSHAN*

Yea, Casshern Sins is pretty sad. The series is about robots coping with their own mortality. So in other words, it's about dying.
