Masking

I have never made a finished video that includes masking in it. I have tried, repeatedly, to use masking in a few videos but try as I might, I have never had the patience for it and I'm always disappointed in the results. Simply put, I just don't always see it as the best effect. Most of the videos I like that use masking do so in a subtle way, to a point where I had to replay some parts to notice that it was there. (A recent example)
