M@Ds are like the Japanese version of AMVs. Many students of mine do indeed watch AMVs, and they've seen a few of mine, but they know of them as basically, "M@Ds made by people outside Japan." They're usually far more static with people, with a lot of after-effects/illustrator/vector graphics type animated backgrounds.

My favorite still is this one I only know as TotoroMAD. I can't find any copies online and it's one of the few in my archive.
It's basically this odd video where the grandmother basically destroys the girls throughout. Also pencils come out of her nose at a few points. Really hard to explain it...
