Hello everyone! Some of you might remember many years ago I came here and announced the release of a program I wrote called AMV Tracker. Although after that announcement I continued to develop that program and made many improvements to it, it still...kinda sucked. So, in 2020 I decided to completely re-write AMV Tracker from scratch, to make it an all-around better piece of software. And it is now finished, and has been released!
So what is AMV Tracker? It is a program that allows you to easily categorize, rate, and keep track of all the AMVs you watch and love. It contains tons of features to help automate and easily import video data. Here is a (non-exhaustive) list of the things it can do:
- Automated video data fetching if you have the YouTube, a-m-v.org, or amvnews URL(s)
- Download YouTube videos directly from within AMV Tracker
- Specify local video files on your computer, and play them from AMV Tracker (or go straight to the video on YouTube by putting the YouTube URL in your video entry)
- Mass import video data by a-m-v.org editor profile, YouTube channel, or public YouTube playlist
- Over 40 different data fields per video entry, including things like:
- Editor name
- Video title
- Studio
- Release date
- Video footage info
- Song/artist information
- Contests entered
- Video description
- Personal rating
- Personal comments
- Play count
- …and more!
- Has a fully customizable tagging system, with up to six different tag groups which can each contain an unlimited number of tags
- Custom tagging logic which allows you to easily automate tagging based on how other fields on your video entry are filled out
- (Optional) automated checks to ensure that the data you fill in is consistent on each entry, so your database remains clean
- Basic filters for quickly identifying subsets of videos
- Advanced filters with Boolean logic to narrow search results down to very specific subsets of videos, or single videos
- Custom Lists which you can use to group specific videos together based on whatever criteria you want
- Two different view types for seeing the video data in your database
- Ability to mass edit any editable field on your filtered videos
- Export your database to .CSV format
- …and plenty of other stuff too!
Thanks!
