World's Longest Anime Trailer/First AMV Movie-type thing

Alright, here's how it all started.

Low and behold it took me about 5 minutes to realize that the Matrix is not going to have anime characters in it...

... UNLESS we all got together with the whole entirity of the Matrix, Script and all, and made a project out of animating the ENTIRE MOVIE. Of course, there'd HOPEFULLY be different editors, but continuos storyline and character usage would be needed.

Do you think this project would go anywhere?? ANYONE??

(Or has it already been done/in the process)

So, it all started because of that AMV. And the sudden urge to have Anime characters in the Matrix Movie. Consistancy is a MUST and good editing skills is a GODSEND. Of course, that would disqualify me, since I'm not up to par yet, but since I came up with the idea, if this project actually goes through and doesn't topple to the ground and into a trash can, I'm going to do the credits(and/or the introduction[phone call])

Like i said in the "Worlds longest thread"..

I really like this idea...if pulled off properly...hell even if it wasn't i could appreciate the effort..

I would like to have some involvement....but i will not (it wouldn't be practical and i suck at editing etc anyway).

Anyway...casting?

Well, I was thinking about having some of the same casting as WuWu had done in his AMV. Such as Kamui as Neo, and the main character from Big O to be Morpheous.. Or some stuff like that.

But, I plan on letting people do this as if they were doing a real movie. Such as, one person decides casting, another decides what scenes go where, and stuff like that. I'm not willing to lay the whole thing out and get my hopes up until this gets more replies.

Anyway...i like this idea...

On a note..do you realise how hard it will be to make this "anime film"?

Yes, yes I do.

By some miracle, the fastest it could probably be done is one 356 and a fourth days year. Or school year... But that's only if EVERYONE who was recruited ONLY worked on The Matrix, and NOTHING else. And ocnsidering that I HIGHLY doubt they'll have that kind of devotion, it will probably take 2-3 years to complete. And since that's such a long period of time, not many people will want to be in this project. Either that, or a lot of people want to be in, say they'll be in, and like most things, drop out right when we say we're going to start. OR we'll have some people join, and then half way through they'll quit either because it's too hard on them, they want to work on something else, or some other random rason that might seem logical at the time.

So yes, I do know what a hard bastard the project will be to do.

Just in case you didn't know the makers of the matrix have teamed together with japanese animators to create the real 'The Animatrix'. So far they have the first episode out of four up for download and it's completely free! It's in Quicktime format and Windows media so unless you have quicktime Pro you won't be able to save it... You might find it in the temp folder but I didn't try. You can get it in English or Japanese (no subs

Yeaah, i saw that a while back but the first episode (although a great intro to the reasons behind the matrix) was not very good.

How would you do something like the infamous "lobby scene"? Bullets flying everywhere, people running up walls, plaster flying all over the place, and multiple firing angles with multiple and different types of weapons?

This'd be a cool idea to see, but doing it, as well as distributing it (DVD only, I'd think) would be astronomically hard.

But who knows?
