Alternate download sources for AMV's

Post by Altusmens » Wed Mar 05, 2003 11:14 pm

This has probably been asked a thousand times before, and I DID do a search, but all I came up with was a bunch of unrelated crap. My apologies in advance.

I've always depended on the download links on a-m-v.org to get videos, and on rare occasions Kazaa for the more popular ones. But it seems like the popularity of certain videos is hard to explain when there isn't any way to download from the site, and they can't be found on the major file-sharing networks. Does all the viewership come from con showings? Or am I completely in the dark about some other dependable way to get AMV's? The specific video that got me thinking about this was AbsoluteDestiny's 'Arima Shinjikun'. It's got VCA nominations coming out the wazoo, but there's not even a hint as to how to get ahold of it.

Help?

Well... in Arima's case, it used to be up for d/l. That's how I got it. But sometimes it is from cons or CD distribution. But the most likely case is that it once was up for d/l and now it's not due to hosting issues. Or rotation, some people rotate their vids weekly or monthly.

Yeah, I'm sorry I dont have a download link for Arima Shinjikun. When I saw it was tied for the artistic category it realy made me wish it was hosted.

If anyone is willing to host it (around 30mb) - even if it's just for a small amount of time, then that would be great.

OK, I think I have hosting for it, but it wont be online until the morning at least.

Check back tomorrow afternoon and there will probably be a download link which I'll announce in the VCA forum.
