Here's an odd question, but.....
When you think of Macbeth, what anime and song come to mind? It's for a school project that I'd like to do, but I just can't think of any song or anime that can apply to the book...

The Simpsons. There's actually a guy who goes around and does a one man performance of Macbeth using nothing but impersonations of Simpsons characters. I haven't seen him myself, but he's come by my campus a few times a few times and it always sells out.
There's also been a doujinshi done of the cast of Slayers doing Hamlet. It's pretty funny and available online if you search for "Hamlet the Manga" (it's in English).
Good luck with your project!

Well, I thought "Macbeth" and two songs popped into my head. The first was Beethovens "Ode To Joy" and the second was Johann Pachelbels "Kanon". Gawd I love classical music. Nothing on the anime side of things, however.
(N.B.: "Kanon" Was played by the string quartet and in the credits of Evangelion:Death and Rebirth, "Ode To Joy" was the song Kaworu was humming in Eva episode 24, it was also playing when Unit 1 and Unit 2 were fighting in that very same episode)

There's a great, obscure song called "Dunsinane Blues" sung by Cleo Laine on her album "Wordsongs." It's a funny jazz version of the last battle scene. Don't know how easy it will be to find, though.

Media Vita Imorte Sumus (sp?) came to mind..I just resently wrote an essay (though a very comical one) on Macbeth. Interesting story/play, but funny being that it was never finished.

There's very few anime footage you can use
Berserk... and maybe The Hakkenden, but last is far east style and doesn't fit very well.
Macbeth is settled in the Middle Ages in Scotland as far as I remember (only saw a movie when I was 14).
You should look for music that matches the zeitgeist of that time and the play.
Maybe you'd like to songs from these bands:
In Extremo:
Dark folk metal with German/Celtic/French lyrics, bagpipes and haps.
Songs with English lyrics would fit better, but I don't know of any English/American bands doing the same stuff.
Subway to Sally:
Similar to In Extremo, but only German lyrics. Not so hard, and in my opinion inferior to In Extremo.
Or search for classical and traditional music like excerpts from the opera, the movie soundtrack (no clue where to get that), soundtracks of similar movies (e.g. Braveheart) or minne.

Some classical music....
One Anime that can go with MacBeth is Magic User's Club. The whole Double Double scene.
Ofcourse I once saw a great play called: Scotch on the Rocks
It was a parody of MacBeth and had the Weird Sisters in it. Which makes me think of Harry Potter's Weird Sisters. Off in my own world.
