"How many downloads does the average AMV get in 2 days.."

My AMV, which I submitted 2 days ago has over 303 downloads, its sucking my bandwidth to hell, being a 25MB file..

Will people stop downloading after it gets off the New Videos list? I need me bandwidth!! But i dont wanna take it down

New downloads always get the biggest hammering, yeah.

Popular videos can do silly amounts of bandwidth.

However, check that you are actually producing that much bandwidth because I find that a lot of video hits doesnt always equate to actually downloaded videos, so it might be less than you think.

I guess my question is what does it take to get some opinions from people? :P

I've seen about 60ish downloads on my recent AMV (of course, you bringup a good point on if those are actually completed or no), but not one opinion. Part of the reason I posted the AMV was for feedback to see what folks thought of my work. Is there some form of ettiquette that needs to be followed or what?

I get a review approximately 1 in every 2/300 downloads unless there's some other promotional aspect going on.

Try the opinion exchange forum. That's what it's for after all. ^_^

I have 542 hits on my vid, I honestly think 20 people have actually downloaded it, though.

As soon as I had it up for DL, I went to opinion exchange and got 2 reviews from other people for reviewing their vid. You have to go out in search of people to review your vid.

I mentioned "Family Matters" as an aside at the gentoo.org forums once when somebody asked about doing video on GNU/Linux boxes.

The place is pretty high traffic, and I didn't expect the post to last very long, nor did I really expect anyone to actually watch the disgusting thing.

The download count increased by 45 one day after I posted it, and it's still going up, which surprises the hell out of me. The thing has around 851 hits on it now, which isn't that much at all, but it's a lot more than I expected.

As far as opinions go...the best way is to leave GOOD, informative, analytic, and generally detailed opinions for someone else ;) Most of mine were received that way. Besides, if you do that, then you get to see what other people's styles are like, and you'll certainly learn a few things from that.

You know that nobody cares about you when you post your new video after it screens at a 5,000 person con and your FTP doesn't even get constant downloads for 24 hours...yes this happens to me. I've also gotten used to no reviews.

Guess it's time to make another eva video...
