Suddenly experiencing an Odorikuruu flashback...
/me seizures...
yadadadaaaaaadadaddadadadaaa
Oh wait...
In my experience, I think just a TINY bit of non-singing scenes could keep the video unpredictable. From what I can tell, it seems that you're gunning for a "traditional" music video.
Singer sings... Music plays... If you can find / use footage where he's lip synched doing like an everyday routine (like regular music videos) that'd be kool... 8)

It's a 13-episode series called Gravitation that aired on Japanese TV sometime in 2000. Genre - romance comedy, but it's shounen-ai, so be warned if you're not comfortable with that, though it's actually quite implicit, except for some kissing scenes. It does have some of the best names in the seiyuu/voice actor business though - Tomokazu Seki (Van Fanel, Souma Kyou, Sagara Sousuke, etc), Yamaguchi Kappei (Inuyasha, male Ranma), Takehito Koyasu, Ai Orikasa, and so on.Otohiko wrote:What is the anime in question here? I wouldn't mind knowing since anime with people singing on stage is quite what I'm looking for in terms of future AMV material.
There was also a 2 episode OVA that was made the year before in 1999, but the production quality of the OVA is seriously lower than the TV series, oddly enough, and is quite unuseable for AMVs.

oi!
I see. Hehe, darn, I don't think I can risk going through a shounen-ai series there... not that I'm uncomfortable, but some of my friends/relatives sure might be.
But I know there's a lot of singing that goes on in anime - just hmm... Someone toss an anime with male singing characters that also has some slapstick or just weird humor going on. Pleeze...

I'll take that as a compliment. 8)OmniStrata wrote:Suddenly experiencing an Odorikuruu flashback...
That's pretty much what I'm aiming for, yes. Sasuga, OmniStrata-san! ^_^ I'll see what I can dig up regarding non-singing scenes, though I'm a little concerned about breaking the flow of the video that way.In my experience, I think just a TINY bit of non-singing scenes could keep the video unpredictable. Well, there is some footage taken from a "music video" scene inside the show where he's singing in the forest/under a waterfall/on a cliff/etc that I was planning to use, though lip-synching that will be a bit more difficult because there's a lot more background motion than in the concert scenes, but I'll see what I can come up with. ^_^; And there is potentially some other stuff. Will keep that in mind. ^_^Singer sings... Music plays... If you can find / use footage where he's lip synched doing like an everyday routine (like regular music videos) that'd be kool... 8)

Unfortunately, in all the series I've seen, there haven't been that much by way of that, and what there is of it would probably be too little to use for editing. Off the top of my head, the Fushigi Yuugi omake had a short bit with Nuriko singing, while one episode of Full Metal Panic had Sousuke in a karaoke lounge, and more recently, episode 7 of E's Otherwise has Yuuki singing into a mike as well, but that's about it. If you wanted female singing characters though, then you should probably take a peek at Love Hina - there was a bit with Naru singing somewhere in the latter half of that series.Otohiko wrote: But I know there's a lot of singing that goes on in anime - just hmm... That's about it, I'm afraid.

Ah! Thanks for the tip-off there - I have FMP so I think I should take a look at that one, sounds like a potential winner to me
Aw gosh, I really want to make some AMV's now. God help us all...
