DC Talk to Trigun??

heh..the first anime I ever bought was the Trigun Boxset...and paid $200 for it..but it so well worth the money I parted with to get it ^^

At least you had the option of a box set I was buying Trigun back when the first couple disks were coming out and had to wait 2-3 months between eps (since this was 1999/2000 ish and fansubs were much harder to find) and I ended up paying a grand total of 240 dollars plus tax.

Wow, hard to believe how old those disks are now.

Actually they aren't bootlegs. They are imported and are in Japanese with English subtitles. So actually I am not getting ripped off.

YES, they ARE bootlegs. They are either burns of low quality Fansubs, which you DON'T want to use, or they are HK's, which will be low quality rips of THE REAL EPISODES! For $35 you are not getting the LISCENSED and LEGAL DVDs but a poor quality rip of something that is detracting from the anime industry.

YOU are getting RIPPED OFF.

Excuse me, but, no, they are anything but low-quality. I have already ordered Inu-Yasha dvd sets from the same store for very cheap and they are very good quality. Good enough for making music vids because i've already made one with the so called "low quality" episodes of Inu-Yasha, which isnt true becuase they are very good quality. You don't have to blow off on me about getting bootlegs, maybe someone just wants to sell it for less. Heck, i can get the english box set of Trigun for $35.00 on Half.com. Does that make it a bootleg? NO! They just want to sell it for less so the customers will buy it. Hope this knocked some since into your tiny brain.

It doesn't occur to you that people don't drop prices into the basement unless they have to, and if they were really that desperate to unload that boxset, that every store would be doing the same thing?

I assume you're talking about those dvd's. Yes, they are bootlegs. Neither the Japanese or American companies have ever created a 3 disc set. That's 8 episodes on one disc and 9 episodes on the other 2. Do you even comprehend the compression thats under? They are most likely from the same company that put out the 2 disc Hellsing set. I will admit that the Hellsing's are usable as source, but barely. The hellsings only have 6 and 7 episodes per disc respectively. If you look at several of that SAME item, you find that some of them list chinese subtitles While others only say "English and Japanese Dialogue" and fail to mention the subtitles? Now why would the Japanese companies go and do something silly like putting Cantonese subtitles on their product, make the DVD's region 0, and not market it purely to a Cantonese audience? Because they're Hong Kong Bootlegs. What does the majority of Hong Kong speak? Chinese. If you are stupid enough not to see this like it is, you might want to get out of the game while you're ahead kid.

And there is the fact that people who buy bootleg products don't support the companies that produce the anime you love to watch!

If more and more people buy bootleg.. You'll see less and less of the anime we've come to love... Animation companies will go down the hole.. Disney will rule the "anime"tion world...

i didnt say that the english version was on 3 cds. The Japanese version was the one with 3 cds. i suppose you are right, and this is just me, but, i would rather buy the whole subtitled series for 35 than the whole English series for 200. Im not Bill Gates you know. People dont make 200 a day right?

That doesnt change the fact that they are bootlegs, not made by anyone liscensed to do so. And yes I would rather have the $150 version than the $30 version. Why? the obscene compression on the $30 makes the episodes unworthy for making videos. If spending less is your argument, why not pay anything and just download episodes off of Kazaa and make a video out of that! Thats what it all comes down to, supporting the industry we love so much.
