FEEL THE LOVE!

Post by Radman » Wed Jun 18, 2003 4:43 pm

The love man, the love, FEEL THE LOVE!!!! I love making AMVs just so when I'm finished, I can stand back and say "thats a good movie". The satisfaction felt after truly completing a great work can be paralleled by very few other feelings. Winning contests is just one of the perks.

BTW, just out of pure curiosity, what was the biggest prize ever awarded in an AMV contest? Maybe I would do it for the prizes if they gave out cars or something (hahaha, yeah right!)

I HATE j00! On a serious note, it was still a success to me since I did learn action timing and effects (which was the purpose). As for it having a vision and all that stuff with fun...that's different.

(But it has the piano keys remember?) ARgh!

For the Love

Post by ZeUs2o0o » Wed Jun 18, 2003 9:23 pm

For me, I do my videos for the love of doing them. I have such a busy schedual with things that I can never get my videos out in time for a contest. For me, it's not worth doing if your not happy with what your doing.

Since I just finished my first video in like, over a year, it's defently has to be for the love.

I make AMV's because its my outlet of choice. Its the one I feel I'm best at, plus it s whole lot cooler than writting sappy ass haiku's all day.

Seeing as I've barely entered videos in a single contest, I would say that I definetely don't make videos to win something.

I think the very strongest reason why I make AMVs is because I really like the AMV community, I feel like I've made quite a few friends and semi-friends here. I love to participate in the community and have other people enjoy my work as much as I enjoy theirs.

Another strong reason is that I love seeing what I can do just by synching anime clips with music, the results have amazed me lots of times and that's enough reward to make up for the occasional tediousness of editing. I'm proud of the videos that I've made so far and I would like to make more to be proud of.

Yet another reason is that I'm very interested in filmmaking. Making AMVs is, for me, a way to practice many of the aspects of making movies, maybe it'll help me get a career going someday. 8)

The love of the art. Mostly because I can't do anything else. ^_^x

Those who can, do. Those who can't, make AMVs.
