Oh, it's not my project, and I wasn't doubting that the Nes group is going to have a great project. I was just surprised that they felt other people should wait in case they chose to do a similar project, as if they had all rights to anything that involves game music, just because they happened to do a project in the past. I didn't think ideas worked that way, is all.

hhhmm.. I should have quoted Nemoxs because my last message was for that person...Arigatomyna wrote:Oh, it's not my project, and I wasn't doubting that the Nes group is going to have a great project.
Oh well...
They just want other people to see the project and hope others make something as good or better than the NES Project. It kinda helps to do something different than to have a similar style from one of the many videos on the NES Project.Arigatomyna wrote:I was just surprised that they felt other people should wait in case they chose to do a similar project, as if they had all rights to anything that involves game music, just because they happened to do a project in the past. Oh well.. Looks like another Sega bashing Nintendo thing going on... The people posting from the NES Project want to help out the this project by giving their thoughts on how to make it great! No Video Game Music Project should be done without actual in-game sprites! It's only a given to add a little something to the video. Sure the project has a name like NES Project or Sega Project but... What's a project if you don't include some game sprites as well?
Oh well, I hope this helps clear up some things about what and why they were saying what they were saying... It was only to help the project along...

Heh, I don't know much about game sprites or how they've worked those into their project. But I'm glad to hear they aren't bashing the project idea - that's what it sounded like in places. I know they're trying to help, and that's great, but it did sound like they were implying no one else should do a similar project without clearing it with them first. That's all I was questioning - whether being a member of the nes project gives them a right over all game music projects. ^_^;
[I wasn't picking a fight, you know, just noting how possessive some of the posters sounded when they spoke of their project - and then this one as a spin-off of their project.]

I'm on the NES Project as well but it's good to see what another project has done before doing something else. (The NES Project is the base for all other Video Game Projects to improve on! Not the "This is what we want you to do Project.") The idea for the NES Project has been around since AWA last year and only a month later did they implement the idea. Only if MJ weren't so drunk, the idea would have never been hatched.. Along the way on the Mailing list for the project we were talking about other possible projects after the NES Project and the Sega Project was one of them. But seeing as Nemoxs got to the Sega Project first, some of the people from the NES Project want to help to improve the Sega Project, not to hurt it. By watching the NES Project, Nemoxs can come up with more ideas for the Sega Project. I just hope Nemoxs understands that...Arigatomyna wrote:Heh, I don't know much about game sprites or how they've worked those into their project. Kinda like hearing Nintendo releasing a CD addon system like the Sega CD only for Nintendo's CD system to be abandoned... That CD system then turned into the Playstation! Look where that system went! So it's good to wait and see what another project is doing before jumping into one that won't do the project justice... 8)
I hope that helps in clearing up more thoughts on the project!

Sorry mexican, but I have to agree with mina, it just sounds like you want to have judgement on all other projects in this area.
And I can't say i want this to happen, I Love sega, I want to do this because their music is some of the best in the industry and I just want to show my love for this great company.
Not only this, But I kinda wanted a small group project to be on, and I chould'nt get on others, So I started my own, Sorry if this urks some people, but as long as it's good when it's finished, then who the fuck cares right?
XD ^_^

Alright heres the thing,
I WANT ANY HELP THAT ANYONE CAN GIVE!
And I'm not just talking about the Nes project leaders (I have mexican on aim so maybe that'll help) but I'm talking about anyone.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ON THE PROJECT TO HELP!
But if you want a spot thats cool to, if someone drops out I'll post it, and someone else can take up that spot.
Now I do have something else to disscuss.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now there are certain things that I'd like to say, you WILL have the option to put game footage into the project, but what I've been planning from the start I can only show the people in the project (gotta have some secrets ^_~).
I've decided on some key tracks for everyone so if you come on aim I'll start deciding on the tracks for everyone, and also give them the opertunity to decide if they want certain tracks or would like others, your choice .
I'll also be ripping some in game footage and handing it out to project members, what they choose to do with it is up to them ya know?
As far as I'm concerned this is a VERY open ended project so whatever ya'll wanna do is cool, but just remember, follow the rules, and try to have some fun with it.

My videos are taking up my currently alotted editing time, but if there are other things you need/may need help with, perhaps you should list those out and some of us can volunteer help with those things.

I chould need some Ripped sprites I have a ton That I've been ripping but I just don't know if I can keep ripping, anyone have any expertise in ripping?
Also any comments you have are more than welcome, I'd love to make this an org project where everyone has a comment and we'll try to do what we can.
Another thing is I'd like some Places I can find out where I can show this project, I don't wanna show it at the same place the NES project might be showing next year, cause everyone might get a little pissed at that, have any ideas?
Remember we have a year to finish, don't feel rushed people
