WMM problems

My dvds won't come up when I put them in the comp. Also, how do u get songs you dl from kazaa into your vid.

Try IsoBuster if your discs are scratched and your dvdrom isn't reading them.

And don't use downloaded songs. Rip your cds, turn those into mp3, and import that into wmm. Then you just 'add to timeline' and it's there.

sad part is, my parents won't teach me how to rip cds. ;_; Has to do with kazaa and the law and crap. ;_; Guess I'll never make amvs unless I buy cds, which I'm not. ;_;

The 'all things audio and video' guide explains how to rip cds - if you have a cd-rom you can do it (though the program they suggest won't work for me). And you *can* use mp3s that have been downloaded, but it's unethical and you won't be helped if you admit you're using them.

Just say you're not going to put the video on the org, and there's no problem 'expirementing' with downloaded sources. Whether the audio is ripped and converted to mp3 or downloaded, you still just import the file and add it to the timeline - wmm doesn't know the difference or care.

If you're using WMM, just put your CD into your CD-Rom, open up Windows Media Player, click "copy tracks to library".
Select the tracks you want, copy them, then import htose files into WMM and put them on the timeline.

As for video... ErMaC and AD's guide is helpful...

... Also, this should go in uhh... Well, either General video or audio or software help... Probably software...

You've actually had this work for you?

The last time I tried that I had a 'copy-write protection error' and wmm wouldn't accept the file. Are you doing something special when you save the tracks, or converting from wma into something else before you import it to remove the protection?

Have you even tried a google search on the subject? If you don't know how to rip CDs I don know whether to pity you, or beat you. Man, rip clients are built right in to allot of today’s software. Hence Media Player 9. Even at my most desperate I could always play a CD in the drive and run "sound recorder" in the background for a nice clean wav (mind you this was near ten years ago to do this today would be so unnecessarily wasteful.) And frankly when editing video, and especially audio for that matter, a wav file is what your are going to want! Sure the file is huge, but are you more concerned with file size or quality? And for the record I don’t' recall a single person getting sued for wavs, no one wants to share them, and only a masochist would dl 'em. Besides, Cds will always give you a much better quality, hell if you have the hardware get some records. You know those REALLY big, black vynal discs.

Analog musical media beats the hell out of digital any day. But more on topic just get a frickin' app that walks you through the whole process. Its just simple commonsense, but apparently you don’t' have any of that to spare. But to come here and bitch about your immorally stolen media not working... Ignorant just doesn’t do justice. Then to say you WON'T pay for media it's pieces of shit like you who brought the wrath of the RIAA down upon the rest of us. Besides, you'll pay $30 for the DVDs, but you wont spend a mere $10 on a CD. You fucking cheapskate. I really hope you feel stupid now.

Odd. WMM won't even recognize that there are songs on the disc for me.

I use MusicMatch to rip songs anyway. It's pretty fast, and preserves the quality pretty much perfectly.

When you copy the file, make sure you don't have that option selected...
... Although I do convert my files from wma to wav... But before I did that, .wma in WMM worked just fine for me.
They're both Windows programs, and windows formats... It should work. =\
