What do you guys think about taking footages from OP/ED

The problem you can run into would be credits over the opening and ending. However, more and more DVDs are putting creditless OP/ED in the Extras portion of the DVDs. Just one more reason to buy them

I would usually avoid doing this, but if you need footage and it actually fits, why not.

I just realized I only responded on a technical side. As for the artistic side, what turboneko says. If you want to use it, go for it! Just be careful of any credits, blah blah blah

Why would anybody be against this? It's anime footage just like the real episodes are, so as long as it doesn't have credits it's acceptable.

It's like using opening/ending scenes are against some unwritten code of anime ethics... =\

...it is? I've never heard of anything like that... People might tend to stay away from them because we've seen those shots WAY more often than the rest of the series, or there are titles, or sometimes the production values are higher for the intro than for the rest of the show... but I've never heard of people complaining about op/ed shots being used.

Hm. Yeah, if you have a creditless version or work around them, I see no reason not to.

I used a few scenes from the opening of Outlaw Stars in one of my videos, and not one op ceased to complain about it. =\

I used opening footage from Magical Project S in my Magical Girl Pretty Sammy video, No one complained about it but I think alot of people that oped the video never saw the anime...
