http://downloads.matroska.org/packs/ gives your people all they need for MKV playback, unless you use RV9 for video ....

For real karaoke, use the syllable highlighting in SSA/ASS ( Substation Alpha / Advanced SSA ), instead of SRT. Making the SSA's is a bit more work than doing the SRTs, but the effects are great, and make karaoke a real highlight.

SSA is currently not supported in OGM, so using MKV is a must, unless you want to mess wih external subs. Playback is supported in DVobSub, so with the matroska pack you get all you need ...

Wow, i'll got for this. I wan to see along as well. Heck, it might even be a better experience than just watching.
