1. How do I overlap clips do one plays behind the other and such
2. How do I use those special effects?

This isnt quite aim but...

#2. Open aim go to - Window - Show Video Effects,
Then when there is a window (that should pop up) and you just drag the desired effect ONTO the actually yellow line of video and then preview...
Adobe doesn't show effects real time as that would really slow down slower computers, but everytime you wanna see one just go - Timeline - Preview.

#1. I have no idea what you're asking but I'm guessing transistions?
"hey... no"

I'll talk to you on AIM if you tell me your AIM sn. I get how to use the effects but i don't know how to enable them. It says in the help section that once you fix the setting to click ok...but there is no ok! :-/

theres an AIM button under Ryans posts, use it to find out his AIM name.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

yay! I'm acctually very slowly figuring it out. It still makes me angrey and I still think that Windows Movie Maker is so much easier to use but I have to force myself to learn Adobe cause I need those special effects. Even if it takes forever to get them right :?

On the left hand side of the member page there are a bunch of links. The one you need is the 'search vids' button near the bottom. You can also find videos by going to the right hand side of the same page and browse through the top 10% and top star rated video lists. Either until you're a member for two weeks or you donate to the site though you can only download the videos that have direct or indirect links to them.

In the future please make sure you post in the correct forums. This forum is about AMV discussion. Near the bottom of the forum listing is a forum called Site Help which is where this post should have gone.

Relax, breathe... :)
the org is a confusing site at first, but it gets clearer real fast.
is there a search or something?
In the blue menu on the left, on the main site (animemusicvideos.org) is a link called search vids. You can check new videos, new videos that are downloadable, or you can search for more specific videos using the super search.
how do i find AMVs?
1) You can use the seach.
2) You can use the various top lists (top 10%, top opinions, etc), which can be found on the right of the members main page, which is the page you get when you log in on the main site (not the forum),
3) You can browse around the forums, click people's signatures and follow discussions. Be sure to take a look at the AMV announcement forum.
how do i make AMVs?
In the blue menu discussed earlier is another link called guides. You can find several links to creating AMV. Ermac's and AbsoluteDestiny's guide to all thing Audio and Video is the godfather of them all. You need to have read (and understood) this before you start creating AMV's. It's all very technical and if you don't get it, you can always search through the Video forums (General Video and Video Software help), whatever you're wrestling with has probably been addressed before.
where can i see them?
You can download them right from the org. There are three kinds of links:
Direct: You click on the link (the word direct) and a download from the creators server will start immediately.
Indirect: You click on the link and you will be taken to the creators page, where you can download the video.
Local. These video's are hosted on the Org's servers. Click on the link and you will be taken to a download page. You will also see a screen explaining how this hosting works and why your help is needed.
For most of the videos here you will need to install the divx codec which can be downloaded from http://www.divx.com . Once you've installed this you will probably be able to watch the video in Windows Media Player.

Welcome to the Org. :)

I have a question.. again..

i downloaded windows movie maker and i thought it was ok.. but.. it can only save my video in a windows movie format. the video qualitly is not really good.. specially when you watch it over and over again, coz the video starts to become blury..
i have a Windows XP operating system and im looking for a suggestion of a better music video making software... i dont care about the anything else but the video and sound quality... maybe something that can save my video in a MPEG format or in Xvid.. i dunno.. what do you suggest?

thanks
