15 minutes - 6 months.

I usually spend about 3-4 weeks on mine.

My most recent took me about two months off and on. My first one took me about six months, very sporadically.

It took me 2 weeks to put together the basic structure for These Angel Hearts but getting the timing and the lip-synch just right (and finally getting a good export) took much longer. That vid took me a long time to make despite the fact it's the slowest moving AMV I've ever seen.

Us Against the World took a little more then a week once I finally tackled it. But there were no fancy tricks in there to work out.

35-60+ hrs. I've never spent more than 80 hrs on a vid unless you count ripping the footage (one vid had over 105 anime used, that took days for me to rip).

Now for the million-dollar question: How many hours are in a 'month' for those long projects? Do the 'hours' and 'weeks' include the time spent thinking about the vid but not working on it? And: Does it matter how long a vid takes to make? What does that say about Iron Chef videos?

Eh, unless it's an effects vid, most of the ones I like took a few days to make (counting hours of actual editing time). It's never made a different to me unless I'm grading effort on how long it took the perosn to finish - which I don't.

For the beginning (and likely curious) editor - it takes as long as it takes for you to watch the vid and think "This is it, it's finished, and I like it."
