Overused Songs
As in, songs that are used the most in AMVs for just about any anime. Can anyone think of any? Here's what I came up with:
In the End By: Linkin Park
Bring Me To Life By: Evanescence
Any of the Mortal Kombat themes
Now, can anyone think of a song that could work with ANY anime AMV? A song that fits just about ever anime? I found one that works for almost every couple you can think of.
At the Beginning By: Richard Marx and Donna Lewis
Oh yeah...and sorry if this thread has been done before. I just didn't feel like scrolling through all the pages here and finding it.

Re
*raises hand with a blush* Guilty as charged on the Bring Me to Life hehe Used that one myself
Another on i used that is i see used alot is Silence by Sarah Mclaughlin, although i did use a limited edition remix done by a dj at a club i used to haunt...so its origional in that sense
another one verused is I Will Find You by Clannad; I love the song and have thought about using it myself. Almost made an Inuyash vid out of it, then found out some one had beat me to it heh.

hey
I second the "Any Linkin Park Song" option. I haven't been here long, but I did notice quite a few of those. BTW, when I go to make a vid, I try my best to aim for a song that's never been used.

You know, there are other songs in use.
Hell, there's even a Velvet Acid Christ video available for download. I've also seen Covenant, Project Pitchfork, and Wolfsheim.
It's just that Linkin Park is one of the most popular bands among those making AMV's right now. Same with Evanescence. It'll die down when something new comes along and everyone hops on the new bandwagons.

LOL! Ah, don't worry. I've used 'In The End' AND 'Bring Me To Life' in some of my videos (none of which are on this site yet...stupid computer) So, I accused myself..in a way...SS5_Majin_Bebi wrote:I'm guilty of the "Bring Me To Life" infraction as well.... But I made the first Eva vid with that song, so its not aaaaall bad is it?

I've used a few LP songs, and I have no guilt over it.
I used 'From the Inside' for a Saiyuki video - but when I did it, there were only 9 vids for that song, and very few vids for the anime.
I used 'Hit the Floor' for a Yami no Matsuei video - and there were 12 vids for that song at the time, but there were *no* action vids for YnM, and no LP vids for it either.
I used 'Don't Stay' for a Night Walker video - there were about 24 vids at the time, but very few for the anime, so no guilt on my part.
I used 'Runaway' for a YYH vid - no need to count those since it's a very overused LP song - but there were 2 action vids for Hiei at the time (amazing now that I think about it), so I felt no guilt.
I used 'Crawling' for a YYH vid - again, one of the *most* used LP songs - but it was the first profile vid for Kurama on this site, and a unique twist on how to interpret the lyrics, so I felt no guilt.
I don't think it's the song so much as what you do with it. So far, I like my LP vids, and overused song or not - I consider them original in their own right, and not to be dismissed just because other people liked the songs as well.
As for songs that would fit any anime - that's hard for me to say. I can listen to almost any song and think of ways in which it would fit my favorite anime - because the ways you can interpret music are unlimited. I wouldn't lie if I said I can listen to almost any song and think of a YYH vid to make with it. It's just a matter of interpretation.

Well, I'll have you all know... my final video project, after this next one I think, is going to be a massive overused project. It's going to be DBZ, Naruto, and Eva with Bring Me to Life and In the End playing simultaneously.
