Why not use Original Show Audio in Video?

Post by Jussumguy2 » Wed Mar 17, 2004 10:34 am

I think the major problem with using the original audio from the show in a music video would be the music accompanyment in the show but for the parts that just have voices/sound effects...I think it's possible to use them for your benefit to really enrich your music video...what do you think? How come it isn't done more often?

I mean check out this:
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=34489

I pretty much left the audio in for the whole thing...luckily there wasn't much music. I think it really works well with the score by Don Davis...It makes it feel like it's actually a movie even though the music is leading everything.

So...do i dare say this is the best DBZ video on the site so far? OP me if you think I'm wrong...or if you don't think i'm wrong...I want to know what people think.

You do have some decent sound equalizing skills, I'll give you that. Especially for dub DBZ where the music plays non-stop. But CN footage? The Freeza dvds are like 14 bucks and possibly lower nowadays. :?

vhs - blah

Yea, it totally sucks about that, stupid vhs quality...
The thing is...$14-$18 for each dvd is still $14-$18 and I'd have to buy a lot of them...and the only reason I would do it is for the video...secondly, i made a tape of everything from cartoon network when DBZ first started coming out so I felt like i needed to do something with them.
But you've tempted me...I might just go out and buy the dvd's now.

besides...it'll be nice to hear some decent audio from dbz on my studio digital surround system...=)

P.S.- sorry..*burning myself with the toilet paper again accidently

I was working on a La Blue Girl video that I was gonna leave some audio in cause there was a break in the song and I found the perfect dialogue to fill it with. Some day I ought finish it but even when I have projects open for a while I seem to switch to whatever's the newest idea I get.

leaving some audio in where there is nobody speaking in the song, and no music in the video audio is ok IMO... but it can ruin a vid if used too much... in my opinion, i think this video http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=14663 would have been MUCH better if they would have left out the audio... so be careful while leaving the audio in..

and there is only 1 best DBZ vid...

The Best DBZ Vid EVAR!!

E-ko's "Tainted Donuts" and James Kao and Gregory Marques's "I Think I'm a Clone Now" use original Japanese audio pretty well, IMHO.

tainted Donuts did a good job, there was an opening of the audio, and it didnt interfere with the song.. and i havent seen the other one.. SpPanda's vid session 2 or something like that.. the faye vid... it had audio intro and ending and it was good..
