Pricing examplesArigatomyna wrote:...As per the topic - the last dvd burner I saw for sale was $150 after a $20 discount. o.O What stores are we buying from to get one in the $100 range? Even the normal dvd roms were at least $100 at the stores near me (not a wide selection).
Best price I've seen was $40 for a Cendyne (Pioneer) 4X DVD writer. That was an unannounced clearance at OfficeMax last week. Unfortunately, it was sold out long before I could get to a store.

Also, for our US members, www.newegg.com is a great source for equipment.

I try to check that site at least once a day. Because of that site I have an obscene amount of harddrive space from some very cheap deals posted there.
According to the main page there is this offer that is related to the topic:
NEC ND-2500A 8X Black DVD+RW/-RW Drive $81 shipped
And that is without rebates.

Be wary of shopping online though as there are a few places listed there that might not be so reputable. They added a feedback feature for the dealers on there, so it's usually a good idea to read them beforehand.
But if you're just looking to get some clips, you don't really need a DVD burner.
