Call me a retard or lazy or whatnot, but I need help, and I'm having problems finding it...
first, I'm not new to the site, just making AMV's. I got a new computor, and, even though it's a Dell, I want to make a vid. gasp!
now that that's out of the way, I'd like to know a few tidbits of info:
a) how do I... crap.. brainfart... take selections from a DVD. I can't remember the word for it right now.
b)what would be the best program to make videos with in a good format, and where can I get it?
And I've missed a lot, so goodbye Phade and good luck. Better late than never, right?
help...

Also: there is no "best program"; it's a matter of what you're comfortable with, what has the capabilities you need, what you can afford...

Yeah, looking back, I worded it all wrong. I meant, "what was easiest to use and work with."Scintilla wrote:Rip.Mechpsy wrote:Call me a retard or lazy or whatnot, but I need help, and I'm having problems finding it...

Try Premiere. You can get a free trial from Adobe's website if you have broadband (or dialup and lots of time to kill ) Or you could use Windows Movie Maker (free with WinXP, version 1 is crap, version 2 is meant to be better.)
To be honest, these programs aren't that hard to use, at a basic level at least. It's pretty much drag-and-drop the video clips onto the timeline, timing etc. comes with practice. I think I'd be inclined to start with WMM to see how you get on, then move on to Premiere or similar if you think WMM's too restrictive.
