Do you go through "drafts" of your AMVs?

When I'm making the video initially I usually keep using "save as" instead of just "save", that way in case I get somewhere down the line and realize that something doesn't look quite right, I can always fall back on a prior version. I also continually export test segments to watch for errors, consistency, etc, etc. And even then, when the video is "finished", I usually still refer to it as "rough cut". Sometimes I'll release my rough cuts, other times not. After the rought cut comes the final cut, this is basically the final finished version of the AMV. And then even beyond that on some of my stuff I'll do a remastered version, which is basically the same AMV but with higher quality source footage, encoded better, etc, etc.

After that I'm generally pretty happy with the second verison. But now that I'm adding more and more effects, two verisons just don't seem like enough anymore.
Yeah, I do a similar thing with my wife and my extremely critical friend Yom. It helps a lot in the development.
There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I don't usually get very good reactions in RL from people about my videos other than from like my brother. The problem I have is that people either just REALLY like them (ie don't try to make any sort of critical analysis) or they kinda stand there dumb founded, say it was pretty neat, but don't comprehend what I had to do with it (ie they think it like "came that way" and I just ripped it off of a proffessional DVD or something). o_O

I don't really create drafts of the entire video. I usually do a lot of thinking beforehand, listen to the song lots and lots of times, analyzing it, then gather all the footage I consider good for the video theme. Then I listen to a part of the song, look for good footage and paste a chunk, and see how it flows with the music. If it has potential I start editing it down till it synchronizes properly to the music. I then repeat this process until the video is finished.
At that point is probably the only thing you would consider a draft in my projects. I then watch it a number of times, seeing if(on the rare occasion) some effects would enhance the video, or if I think of something that would be better. Once I'm satisfied, export for distribution and/or convention submission, and that's it. I don't ever go back to change anything once I'm finished with a video.
