Thanks
Thanks for the comments and thanks for PM-ing me and suggesting my video Corran!!
As for the video title, I meant it to be kind of like a questioning shinobu's friendship. Maybe it would've been better had my title say "Shinobu's Friendship?" huh?

"Believe in Me"
Hey, Corran, I checked out that Smashing Pumpkins - "Tonight, Tonight" video by dwchang that you suggested and I wanted to say that it is a very good video. Standing alone, it has solid timing that went exactly as the creator said it would, with all of the beats and musical sections going along with the scenes perfectly. The mood of the video was great and worked well. There is just one problem: I've never seen Escaflowne (though, again, it IS somewhere on the list.) Even so, if I were judging it by my guidelines, I don't really think it would fit, as I'm fairly sure that the people shown were the main characters. Nonetheless, it was an exceptional video and dwchang is quite talented.

In reply to you question, dj_ultima,
It's a bit of a spoiler to even talk about Deus...he's the guy in the lab coat with the electrical tape wrapped around his waist.

Re: "Believe in Me"
LOL I glad you liked it. It was one of my favorites by him also. As it is his first video he has a lot of reservations against it. Actually he despises it which is why I have it in my sig to tease him.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Hey, Corran, I checked out that Smashing Pumpkins - "Tonight, Tonight" video by dwchang that you suggested and I wanted to say that it is a very good video. Oh, now I remember!
Hey, Sousaphonist, thanks for the explanation on Deus. I remember who he is now. Actually, I didn't even realize he had a name! I just thought of him as what his entity in general was referred to as, of what he said he meant to the Wired. Well, Good Luck with your profile of him and Happy AMV-ing!

PS: hey, is it just me, or does anyone else think that the song "The Great Below" by Nine Inch Nails would make a GREAT Lain video?

Re: Oh, now I remember!
Wait a minute, are you suggesting a video for a main character,in a thread, one you started by the way, specifical about making videos about side characters?dj_ultima_the_great wrote:PS: hey, is it just me, or does anyone else think that the song "The Great Below" by Nine Inch Nails would make a GREAT Lain video?
Oh, and I think that combo would be good.

I'm not going against myself...
Coffee 54 - ah, no, I'm not saying a Lain video to that song...I meant a Serial Experiments Lain video to that song. Sorry for the confusion. I was making reference to the series, not the character. Although, come to think of it, it would be hard NOT to include Lain herself in a video like that. But, consider it a challenge! ^_^ Consider it one of those "using the side characters to tell the story of a main character" challenges.

That's what I figured. I was just having a little fun. Lain video's, side characters or no, are often to deep for me to get anyway. I just like their weirdness.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Coffee 54 - ah, no, I'm not saying a Lain video to that song...I meant a Serial Experiments Lain video to that song. Sorry for the confusion. Suggestions for the Weary...and Revisions for Me!
Alrighty, I think this might be another big one. I have some revisions I'd like to make to my challenge regarding who the main characters really are in a series. My friend "pinky" said something awhile back about an upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! video that interested me: "It focuses specifically on Little Yugi, an oft-forgot hero of the story." It then occured to me that maybe I was wrong in listing certain people as being main characters. Cuz when you think about it, the main character of Yu-Gi-Oh! is Yami, NOT Yugi. Yugi (sadly) is a side character IN HIS OWN ANIME!!! After that, I thought about other anime, and sure enough, I realized that I made a few mistakes. You see, I had judged the main characters hastily and based it on what *I* believed was true. So, this time, I went back through and took a second look. Here's what I revised...
Angelic Layer - Misaki AND her mother ARE allowed, but NOT their Angels or ANY battles. The video should be about them as characters, NOT Deuses.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - Rei IS allowed, but NOT her Evangelion, UNLESS it is an interior shot and Rei can be seen.
Pokemon - Brock AND Misty ARE allowed, but NOT their Pokemon. The video should be about them as characters, NOT trainers.
Serial Experiments Lain - Lain is NOT allowed, but Lain of the Wired IS allowed (those who have seen the series ought to know what I mean by that; if not, then just DON'T USE Lain.)
Trigun - Meryl AND Milly ARE allowed.
Yu-Gi-Oh! - Yami is NOT allowed, Little Yugi IS allowed; although, Yami MAY be used to further YUGI'S story, but he should appear for LESS THAN fifteen percent of the video.
Well, that wasn't SO bad, was it? ^_^ For those who are curious, the revision was based off of not just how often a character is used in a music video, but also how often they are used in an anime, AS WELL AS what purpose they served in both. For instance, most videos that include anything with Rei (from Evangelion) always show her fighting, but not many show her from a 'personality' point of view. Take Neon Genesis Evangelion - Madonna - "Frozen", edited by yoshi1013, for example. It is a great Rei character profile, and while it DOES show her Eva, the video is about Rei, NOT her fighting.
With that said, I have a second bit of drivel to deliver! *cheezy grin*
In this post I’d also like to provide a little inspiration for those in need! Some of the responses I’ve received have led me to believe that some people are interested in my challenge, but aren’t really sure where to start. Well, this one is for you people! These are what I consider to be very basic suggestions. All most of them have is an anime, a song, (a) character/s, and a simple concept. If I get positive responses to these ideas, then expect me to give out A LOT more...but don't worry, I'll only type up a few at a time. I wouldn't want to overload anyone with information. So, without further rambling...
WARNING! SOME OF THESE IDEAS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FROM THE SERIES, SO IF YOU SEE AN ANIME YOU DON'T KNOW HERE AND DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED, RUN LIKE THE DICKENS IN THE OTHER DIRECTION AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
X TV - Barenaked Ladies – “Falling for the First Time” – Sorata/Arashi – geez, this song has been done nineteen times and put to X at least three, but two can’t be downloaded and the other doesn’t incorporate this concept, so here it is. A lighthearted Sorata/Arashi romance, and the song is told from Sora’s point of view. His trial and error type of wooing seems to lend itself nicely to a song like this. Although, I’m not sure if there is enough footage, so the song might have to be cut down.
Neon Genesis Evangelion, Chobits, Blood The Last Vampire, Angelic Layer, Ah! My Goddess – Course of Nature – “Wall of Shame” – Ritsuko, Minoru and Yuzuki, Yumi and Ueda, Nurse from Blood, Tamayo, Morgan – this is a great song (which hasn’t been done as of when I posted this) for all of these characters, or any grouping of them, because they all have a common thread linking their personalities: self-deception. Ritsuko lives in her mother’s shadow, but doesn’t let anyone know it, Minoru and Ueda are both dealing with the guilt of loving a Persacom, the nurse is trying to convince herself that what she saw was false, Tamayo denies her love for Kotarou until the very end of the anime, and Morgan believes that awakening Celestine will help her to achieve her goals (and it doesn’t, really.) The song itself is about self-deceit and lies, and hiding away inside of those lies while denying reality.
For now, I'll just give those two. Be sure to tell me if you like my ideas, or if I should just shut up. But please, be nice. I'm very sensitive. ^_^ *puppy eyes* As always, Farewell, Good Luck, and Happy AMV-ing!

PS: don't you just hate it when you're possessed with the urge to make an AMV, but you don't have ANY of the resources to do it? Makes me mad...*grumblemuttergrumble*

Koop made a great Rei vid: Damaged Rei-mix. Oh, and very few scenes of the Eva.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Neon Genesis Evangelion - Rei IS allowed, but NOT her Evangelion, UNLESS it is an interior shot and Rei can be seen.
