Nudity in amv

Funny that this topic should come up. I'm working on a Level C video for a convention, and good lord it's tough. The OVA's only 30 minutes long, and only about 10 minutes are non-sexual scenes. The thing is, some of the sexual scenes are blatently graphic, so I'm cropping what may be "wrong" and making them look more artistic and passionate. I do think that it is a sexual video though, but I'm entering it into a public convention, so it's not *that* sexual.

I think it all depends on how you're doing the nudity. If it's obviously money-shots or something used in a sexual way, then I'd say cover it up. No one here wants to see it (except for the hentai crowd...*shudders*), and I think a bigger audience would be able to appreciate it without such blatent nudity. Make it beautiful ^_^

Bum got to the crux of the issue although he flipped the terms.

Naked is sexual.

Nude is artistic.

There is actually a genre in painting and photography called nudes, that uses odd camera angles and body positions to show the beauty of the human form in a abstract way.

I thought it was only "sexual nudity" that wasn't allow. O_o

I've seen plenty of locally hosted videos with full frontal nudity...its just not sexual.

My rule of thumb...insertion or sexual contact (breast licking for example) is verboten. Almost anything else is fair game.

Hell, if an AMV can contain senseless Violence with splushing organs it very well could also include sexuality... imnsho..

responding to nokvok's last post there are different types of violence. for example

senseless violence: Elfen Lied

Nonsenseless violence: Samurai X OVA

if theres a reason for the violence, then its not senseless. most of the senseless violence AMVs have been taken off the local server, the elfen lied vids for example. samurai X OVA is not one of them.

Just write a warning on comments about "nudity meant by artistic improvisation". That should be enough even in U.S.
